I’ve come across some really fascinating and creative names while exploring both the forum and the marketplace!

If you chose a name other than your real one for your username or business, I’d love to hear about the inspiration behind it.

Was it something deeply meaningful to you, a playful twist on words, or perhaps a fun suggestion from a friend?

Feel free to share your story in the comments below!

I was a Rockman fan since I was a kid and the yellow hardhat enemies were my favorite, and I was introduced to 1337-5p34k via MegaTokyo in my high school years. So an early general-internet username I used was Mettaur7413. (There was also a card game called Magi Nation that the punster in me adored, even if the game didn't catch on.)

The transitional faze between childish and professional had me using  ImaginationInterpreter, as that was when I started beta-reading and 'helping people get what was in their head onto paper', but which turned out to be too long for most sites. User name character limits had me go with ImaginationStarts for a while, with a 'the journey starts with a single step' perspective, and as an encouragement.

When I joined Fiverr, I think there was (is?) a 15 character limit, so I had to shorten further. I still wanted to use 'Imagination', but the first alternatives I tried were already taken. I didn't want to spend hours making a username, and adding numbers after an already taken username is a common practice. I already had some numbers memorized, that wouldn't be at risk of my forgetting them, so...

Yeah.

Yeah.

Your username is one I've always been curious about. So much rich history behind it, I love it. Thank you so much for sharing.

Wow, what an interesting topic! I would love to share the story behind my username, "Plantantion", which combines Plantation and tant (a French term meaning "so long") to reflect my love for nature and dedication to long-term relationships.

Plantation symbolizes my love for nature and passion for planting trees. Being around greenery brings me peace and positivity, reminding me of the importance of growth and sustainability.

tant represents my dedication to building long-term relationships with my buyers. I strive to provide exceptional service and foster trust, ensuring lasting connections. By combining these ideas, my username "Plantantion" conveys both my personal connection to nature and my professional commitment to my buyers.
