To make money, you have to spend money. For those looking to be successful in their freelancing careers, wise investments in things like courses, books, software, or equipment can make all the difference.

What investment would you say has had the greatest returns for you in terms of your career?

The biggest investment in my freelancing career has been time. I completed a 120-hour long course, which was based on 5 practical projects. Of course, it wasn't free—it was highly expensive. However, I gained a lot from it, learning valuable skills and acquiring practical knowledge. I successfully completed the course and got a certificate. Now I'm a Professional Bookkeeper working for ecommerce store, property management, real estate, nonprofit organization & others.

I love this! I'm happy to hear that taking the leap of faith and investing your time and money, is paying off! Best of luck to you in your bookkeeping career.

Going all out to buy books on psychology and human management.

January 2024, after I decided to restart my career from a level similar to zero, I got books like the 48 laws of power, the magic of thinking big, the alchemist, mafia manager, and 33 strategies of war. I certainly haven't been the same since I made this decision.

Another bold decision I made around this same time was to relocate from a supposed location with opportunities (where I was slaving away) to go somewhere that didn't have the same amount of opportunities.

12 months today, and I do not regret my decision.

As a voice actor who works with my own spoken dialogue all-day long and the spoken dialogue of others on occasion, the purchase of the Izotope RX suite of audio processing/repair plugins has hands-down been the best investment I've made in my business across the 7-years I've been in the industry. Ironically it was also one of the cheapest investments that I ever made. I have used these plugins in some form or fashion across thousands of projects and several hundreds of thousands of dollars of work. The "elements" (essentials) version of this plugin suite is often on sale for $99. If I had to start over today these plugins would be one of my first purchases.

Nice! It's cool that such an affordable investment could yield so much impact for you. It just goes to show that it's not always about how much money you spend but rather about making sure that you're being strategic and thoughtful with your investments. 🤗

The right courses are usually great investments. Which kind of courses did you take?

Before joining the freelancing career I think I have made right investments that is giving me an opportunity to excel. I am presently PhD holder, certified accountant, certified data analyst and have written several books particularly on content creation, introduction to data analysis and financial modeling and accounting books.

To achieve all these, you will agree with me that I most have read several books and attended several courses. These investments have positively impacted my current role as a seller on fiverr.

I have invested in learning courses from Fiverr Learn and other online platforms, which have helped me improve my skills and deliver better results for my buyers. To take my services to the next level, I’ve also invested in hiring a talented team, ensuring every buyer receives exceptional value and a seamless experience.

Upgrading to premium software has been a game-changer, boosting my efficiency and professionalism while keeping up with the growing demands of freelancing. These thoughtful investments have not only enhanced my career but also made it incredibly fulfilling to serve my buyers with the best I can offer.
