Is refreshing frequently to stay online a red flag for Fiverr's profile?

Question

Posted

I just opened my gig this month. I refresh my browser tab frequently, every now and then, to make myself online. Is this a red flag for my profile?

  • I don't use any extensions.

Please give me some useful tips. As a newbie, it will be very helpful for me.

If I don't stay online, then my gig won't show up to the client. Many people told me that. So I tried to stay online.

Not sure who told you that. But they are wrong. Your gigs are shown to clients no matter if you are online or offline.

I've been here for 11 years and guess what, I am online only when I deliver stuff or reply to clients. My gigs are always shown to clients because what matters when it comes to gig ranking is your performance, if you canceled orders, if you delivered late, private reviews you received and other metrics. Fiverr doesn't care if you are online or not. They will show your gigs to more and more people if customers are happy with the work you do.

I mean, if you want, stay online, but I am sure others will reply here saying the same, it doesn't help with anything.

Staying online doesn't help you with anything. It just wastes your time. Focus on acquiring a great skill, improve your current skills and always work on being the best at what you do. That's how you get ahead, not by refreshing. It's not a red flag, some people are online on Fiverr a lot, but that's because they work and deliver often. It won't be a red flag, but it is a severe waste of your time, honestly.

Thank You. I am new to this platform. I was doing it wrong. I hope you understand. Your answer just changed my perspective about Fiverr. Now I will focus on my work, not on staying online. Thank you very much @donnovan86
