Is Gig Image SEO Necessary?

Can anyone tell me that Image Seo is necessary or not?

If yes, what's the process?

There are tons of videos on YouTube in which to rank a gig, gig image seo is necessary advised. But personally, I never found any importance of gig image seo.

Is there anyone who can clarify this issue and properly instruct me how to do image seo if it is necessary?

Why do you all ever listen to these YouTubers?? Everyone listens to their dumb advice and arrives here like an expart. And then they all keep giving each other SAME advice.  

99% of things on this platform are driven by common sense and are self figure-outable.
