I recently got an email that my account had been restricted due to the wrong identity, Now I asked what was the problem because I used my full name and photo, Every single detail given to Fiverr is 100% correct including the withdrawal platform which I use and is still registered under my full name. Ii even requested to send my International passport to them and also send a video of me speaking and confirming my Identity with my passport and any other documents they want.

This is quite sad and it breaks my heart that, It is now my account is booming with over 2-3 gigs per week that Fiverr all of a sudden decided to restrict or suspend me. The customer support even claimed that "after the 60 days, my account will be permanently suspended." For what reasons exactly?

Another sad part is their customer support takes like forever to respond.

This is quite sad and I want the community to help me or have a say in this, Thanks.

Follow-up response, It seems Fiverr already made up their mind that my account must be suspended. I requested to at least see or know what I violated. How can you just want to suspend someone's account for identity fraud but then after, I claim to be capable of fact-checking all those false claims? You go ahead to claim your team already made the decision. Where is that done?

I again demand to know exactly what I violated because something is looking fishy here, it's sad that Fiverr with all its reputation is stooping too low for this.

Well, when you created your account, what name did you enter, and what address did you provide?

And now, when you verified your identity, what name and address did you use?

Yes, I created my account an verified it same year 2022. Ever since then, I've never changed any details asides my profile picture (about 6 months ago) which was also my picture but I wasn't putting on a suit. That's all.

How did you complete verification in 2022? Because as far as I know, the ID verification process started in 2024.

I don't exactly remember the year but yes I have also verified my ID before 2024. I think it was 2022.

Yes, I also verified myself a couple of years back (must have been 2022). I remember clicking a selfie and doing it on the app.

But for the sake of following the process - I re-did my verification this week.

I asked CS last week what I should do. According to CS I don't have to do anything, everything is apparently fine for me.

Yeah, waiting for next year when fiverr asks to verify again. :classic_biggrin:

Well, I opened my account in 2021, but I added my first gig in February or March 2023, so I don’t remember everything clearly because those were very busy days in my life. However, I also re-verified it this week.

The reason for this is that the model retains data for the past two years, which is why you and I had to re-verify.

Now every seller will have to verify their ID again after the next two years. 😄

Didn't they tell you the exact reasons why they are closing the account in the response? 🫤

No, Just the "Identity fraud" Which I'm yet to see where I defaulted.

I remember after creating my account, I did all the necessary verifications immediately and never did any other one again, Neither was I notified to do any too. So it was most likely 2022.

So, send them something as proof to make things clear to them. Is there any chance that you might have used the ID card of a brother, sister, or family member for verification, or something related to this?

If not, and you're confident, then tell Customer Support that you're ready to provide any information they need in an easy and detailed way. Explain all these things to them thoroughly. I hope you’ll get a positive response from them.

Never used them, Created my account myself. I already told them all of these but another annoying thing is that they respond so slowly, they take days to respond and when they do, they respond like robots. I already attached my passport image to one of the replies and I am also ready to do a liveness check video. But it's obvious they work differently, they make their decision in secret, decide on who gets banned or not even without giving out a detailed report on the exact part of that rule I violated.

The customer support claims the decision is final and they cannot give any additional information, Fiverr is one of the most useless platform in freelancing history.

I agree with this. For sellers who are not top rated. CS Can take upto 3 days to give a reply. It's really bad how they treat the sellers and buyers get an immediate response within 24 hours.

This whole thing where buyers are given more power in terms of leaving public & private reviews, fiverr and response time for ticket support is all buyer favorable.

Whereas as a seller you have to reach TRS level to get response in 1 day.

Fiverr is biased when it comes to us sellers. I don't like this a bit.

That's sad. But as it's fiverr, buyers are the main priority. 😕

Well, this truly is a very painful situation, but when one door closes, many others open for us. Put in hard work on other freelancing platforms, or create your own website and give it your 100%.

You should never rely on just one platform, especially when everything is under the control of 'AI model.

Let me give you an example of myself. I am working hard on Upwork, thinking of starting on Etsy, have started working on my own website, and am also working as a designer in 20+ communities on Discord. So, take some time to establish things, and spend a few nights working hard, so that you can soon witness a beautiful morning.

I hope you achieve great success very soon.
