ranking fluctuations are primarily driven by order volume

The number of orders is very important. If a new seller asks on the forum how his gigs can get a ranking I will always say: NO SALES = NO RANKING.

Fiverr only wants to make money. If you sell well, Fiverr rewards you with a nice position in the search results. Getting a good success score follows automatically if you sell enough and do not get into trouble. What exactly is needed to increase the score is currently unknown. It is a fact that the score can drop if your sales drop drastically. I make sure that I have a constant flow of orders.

Man, actually, this line of yours has cleared up a confusion I’ve been trying to resolve for the last two weeks.

Last month, I completed around 40+ orders, and this month, I’ve completed 18 orders so far, all with 5-star public ratings. However, I didn’t work with some buyers this month due to low-budget offers, so the decrease in orders is causing my success score to drop.

Here on Fiverr, they talk about quality on one hand, but the model they’ve trained is counting quantity instead—who knows why? 🤷‍♂️

I would rather suggest you turn your Fiverr ads option on, and this will surely bring you quality clients. I have got a great number of clients this month, and that too repeat ones.

FIVERR gets a percent off the top of each order, of course they are concerned about quantity over quality.

Yes, I have it turned on, but this month it hasn’t given me many orders. Maybe 2 to 3 orders came through it, and the rest were all organic.

Maybe because of the Xmas. Things will surely change in 2025!

Since joining Fiverr in 2014, I’ve completed over 5,000 orders and received more than 2,500 five-star reviews. However, on March 15th of this year, my success score dropped to 6. Despite my efforts, it has remained unchanged to this day. Here's what I’ve done since the drop to improve:

  1. Transparency: I’ve been upfront with every client from the start, ensuring clear communication.
  2. Enhanced Work Quality: I’ve elevated the standard of my work to deliver even better results.
  3. Added Value: I began including free extras to make my clients happy.
  4. Client Communication: As one of the top 1% of video editors on Loom, I’ve created 750 videos this year to explain project details, share progress updates, and showcase results.

The Outcome:

Despite these efforts, my score remains at 6.

A Silver Lining:

During this challenging period, I started focusing on finding clients through my websites. It turns out, I’m good at it. This shift has brought in better opportunities—higher-paying clients, less stress from unsatisfied clients, and the ability to deliver outstanding results.

Ironically, Fiverr’s drop in my score and revenue became the push I needed to discover that I can earn 10 times more by working independently. That said, Fiverr still contributes significantly to my revenue, but my journey this year has been a transformative learning experience.

Thank you, Fiverr, for unintentionally showing me what I’m capable of beyond your platform.

Great! Thank you so much for sharing.

A few months ago, I deleted one of my Gigs based on advice from Fiverr customer support, which assured me that this would remove the Gig’s score from my overall success score calculation. I was told that once the Gig was deleted, it would no longer negatively impact my performance.

The success score is the most unnecessary feature on this site yet it's still has the most impact on your account and earnings overall. Here's how ridiculous my stats look with over 5 000 orders and yet LEVEL ZERO because of this success score feature. It doesn't look right, please remove this feature from Fiverr and keep the old system which worked just fine

Thank you!

I completely understand how frustrating this is, and I’m right there with you. I’ve been dealing with the same issue, and it’s really discouraging to see hard work and dedication not reflected properly due to the success score. It feels unfair, especially for those of us who’ve completed so many orders and built a solid reputation. I really hope Fiverr considers reevaluating this feature and bringing back a system that truly reflects the effort and value we bring to the platform.

Yup it's complete garbage.  A score that is to a significant point out of your control as it compares other sellers in your service offering and pricing.  Furthermore, you can't really look up the specific cause of your dropping score according to algorithm other than the generic tags that appear on your gigs.

In my case those tags suddenly disappeared the day my Success Score dropped to 6 and wiped out my LEVEL 2 status.

Additionally - this weird "0" has appeared in my Detailed Score since my score started dropping.  FIVERR support assures me it is a "UI glitch" and has nothing to do with my Success Score.  Still find it weird.

Totally agree with you. Success score is a garbage feature, I just got downgraded from level 2 to level 1 because of SC reduction. All my public reviews are 5 stars, SC reduction and notice that communication needs improvement, I can't understand because my communication with clients is normal, polite and clear. We can't know the reason for the increase or decrease of success score. Fiverr should consider removing this feature.

Great question @uk1000!

I appreciate your attention to detail and your curiosity for truth and understanding.

So to be frank, deleting a gig could affect the seller's SS, but since the algorithm considers many other factors, it can be a bit tricky to determine just how much removing a gig would impact the overall score.

For example, if the gig already receives little or no activity, it probably doesn't have a significant impact on the existing score, so deleting it will not move the needle too much.

My recommendation to sellers is first to pause the gig in question, wait to see what impact it has on their SS, and then delete or keep it accordingly.

Does that make sense?

Good point, thank you.

Furthermore, my Gig dissapeared from the search. Now I'm unreachable to buyers

What are your gig categories - I will search for you and see if I can find it

Just for an update I put in a support request about what many of us have seen with Gigs showing "no specific areas significantly impacting your Gig's Success Score"

Initial Response

We would like to express our gratitude for your patience during this period of increased customer requests [...] I have forwarded your inquiry to the relevant team for further review. As soon as I receive an update I will let you know by following up on this ticket.

Your patience and understanding are highly appreciated.

Interesting....  It looks like they are getting a high number of support requests.  I wonder if that is due in part because of all garbage with Success Scores dropping?  If they reply with anything of value I will let everyone know here.

Wanted to add an update to this post.  I have received two responses from CS:

1.) First I received an AI response that I imagine was triggered because of the huge number of support tickets.  AI missed the mark entirely saying my Gig was still active.  Strike 1

Quote

Your Gig is live and searchable on the platform.
Whenever you publish a new Gig or make changes to an existing Gig, it always undergoes a review to make sure the changes align with our Terms of Service and internal guidelines.

2.) I respond asking for a real human to help.  A real person responds - but literally echoed back the question I asked as the answer.  Strike 2

Quote

After reviewing your account, it appears there weren’t any distinctive behaviours or key areas to note that negatively or positively stood out in your orders, and therefore, no key areas shown on your Gig. Once the model recognizes distinctive behaviours, the data will be presented to you.

I'm responding again and waiting for a real answer - trying to get some kind of clarification I can share here.  I've made changes based on the Success Score documentation which was picked up by the "algorithm".  However I have to sit around and wait (how long - who knows!) for it to show me something else to fix.  This is busy work to keep people running around to meet fuzzy requirements in hopes of reaching higher Success Scores.

Finally received a third response from Support.

I have checked your account and gig and see that the key area "Communication" needs your attention.

This kind of response can mean only one of 2 things.  Gig Details are BS or broken.  Either way FIVERR has let go of the steering wheel with Success Scores metrics. Here is a screenshot of my Detailed Score as of 30 seconds ago.  No key areas detected.

This level drop is costing me clients and I am not going to stop until I get some answers.
