Important ID Verification Update

Hey sellers!

The European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA) now requires all sellers to verify their identities to remain visible to clients in the EU. 

If you joined Fiverr before 2023 and still haven't completed the ID verification process, we strongly encourage you to do so as soon as possible to be DSA compliant. 

You will have until February 17, 2025, to complete the verification. Any users who do not provide the required identity verification by the deadline will lose visibility to the EU market and may no longer be able to work with them on the platform.

How do we know if we've already done this? I ask because I had a legal name change back in October and when I notified CS about it they said I didn't have to do anything because my account had already been verified.

You can start the process to check it. It will ask for your name and address. 

I did verification when they introduced Professions. Now, it only asked for my name and address.

In just 5 seconds, it notified me that everything is okay.

I did verification when they introduced Professions. Now, it only asked for my name and address.

Hmm, and seeing as the name I have now is different from the name I started with I can see this becoming really fun, fast! I haven't even done anything involving Professions even though I received the invitation a couple of weeks ago because I've been waiting for potential bugs to be exposed and worked through--similar to how I hold off on MS Windows updates!

Looks like your account is verified, but you can double-check by trying to go through the process as mentioned.

I just verified & the process was so quick. I would suggest Fiverr add an icon or badge next to user profiles for verified identities, similar to the verification badges on Facebook or Twitte/x.

@Kesha, what if you changed your address? It won't match the one you provided when registering on Fiverr. Would that be a problem?

So all I have to do is not verify and then people from the EU can't see my gig........... Excellent.  (Sarcasm, sorta)

I am not Kesha 😁, but...

In my case, even my document country and my name spelling changed (different versions of "i" letter in Turkish), so it should be fine.

It's also saying "try deleting your cookies" and that there's too many redirects.

So you could try deleting your cookies or make sure cookies are enabled for the site it needs and that scripts are enabled.

Hi, I verified today and got this notification. I tried to verify for professionals feature 10 days ago and with the help of Customer support verify successfully today. I selected this option Outside of my primary job or profession and then no need to submit Name, address.

Is this ok? Or need to submit name ,address to choose other option?

There should be a notification sent via email as well, as not all sellers are active on the forum. This will help ensure everyone is informed.

That would actually be really cool. I can bring the suggestion to the product managers and see if it's something they would be willing to implement.

Hey there! 

If you completed IDV in the past, you do not need to worry about doing it again.

Hello! Yes, you should be good as long as you followed all the prompts and received confirmation that your verification was complete.

We sent several kinds of notices to sellers, including emails. We are doing all we can to make sure everyone is aware of the upcoming changes. 😊

Great question! 

It really depends, so I won't be able to confirm whether there will be any issues in your case. I recommend trying the process, and if you run into issues, you can always reach out to CS, who will gladly assist you accordingly.

There is no need to upload your ID again. Just input your name, mobile number, and address. Then all done. You will also receive a notification and mail.
