Should I create new account or keep using the one I made in 2022?

Question

Hello Fiverr Community,

I’m transitioning to freelancing full-time and am excited to dive into this journey on Fiverr! I originally created my Fiverr account back in 2022 but never used it since I was focused on my full-time job. Now that I’m considering a career switch, I’m wondering if I should stick with my old account or start fresh with a new one in 2024/2025.

I understand that Fiverr only allows one account per person, so if I decide to create a new one, I’ll need to delete the old one. I want to make the best choice for starting my freelancing journey on the right foot.

Here are my thoughts:

  • Would an older account (from 2022) be seen as more credible than a newer one?
  • Are there any downsides to using an account with no prior activity?

I’m open to all suggestions and would appreciate any advice from those who’ve been in a similar situation. Thank you for your guidance!

Best regards,
Mohsin

Whatever account you use, consider this:

For a new account, you will first have to permanently delete your current account, as only one account is allowed. After deleting your current account, you will need to create a new one, which will be subject to approval. Getting approval on new profiles in 2024 is extremely challenging due to market oversaturation (if you are active on Forum, you will see every third topic regarding rejection of a new profile). Many people are facing rejections and if your profile gets rejected, you will not even have the chance to create your first gig.

Once rejected, you will not be able to return to your current account since it was permanently deleted by your consent. So, you will lose all access and will have to say goodbye to Fiverr (before even starting your career here).

Conclusion: I strongly recommend proceeding with your current profile. At least, you have a chance to create gigs and compete in the marketplace.
