Does posting your gigs in social media to get orders actually works?

Question

Posted

I Know the question " How can I get orders for my gig" have been asked a million times here. For the experienced sellers: What's your main stream of leads?

Has posting in social media got you any orders? If not, what did? If yes, it would be really awesome if you shared your tips and overall thoughts regarding this topic.

Have you been on Fiverr before??

You're one hour old on the forum and max 4 days old on Fiverr but it seems like you know it all.

@priyank_mod Yeah I know, I just logged in on the forum. But I have been reading the posts here for a few weeks before I started my fiverr account. I don't think I've said anything portraying the image that I know it all. I've asked a clear question to get the thoughts of more seasoned members. I don't see the point of your ad hominem comment

Posting on social media seldom brings results.

Interesting. On youtube that's pretty much what gurus advise you to do.

I have checked your seller profile Filip, and I must say I'm impressed. What has worked for you?

Before I created my first gig, I had been studying Fiverr for about 2 months.
After 2 weeks, I had my first order and the orders kept coming. My gigs were poorly structured, as were my gig images. I simply outplayed my competitors by delivering fast and good quality at a competitive price.

My gigs are not yet up to par. I don't have enough time for that. But this is not a problem because buyers keep buying them.

I was definite that I was gonna get this kinda answer from you😁

The buyers are on the Fiverr platform (not on youtube, facebook, etc...). Why would I waste my time there.

@filipdevaere Can you please see my profile and what I need to improve?

Sorry, I don't have time for that. Every day there is 1 or 2 sellers who ask me this. I have orders to complete.
I have done this a few times before and it takes too much time and usually my advice is not followed.

Not to worry I regretted the question I asked after I posted it. I know how busy you are. I'll learn along the way. It's a long way journey. Most of all no shortcuts to success right?

Gurus suggest easy things that anyone can so because they are selling something to you - let that be via affiliate marketing or actual courses.

Many of them aren't actual freelancers on here.

Freelancing isn't meant to be easy no matter what people tell you so shortcuts like spamming ads on social media often don't help.

Yeah I figured. For now I will rely on my existing local clients offline until I get the fiverr thing figured out

From my personal opinion, since it is in the Fiverr that you share your gigs on social media, there must be a reason behind it. They probably set their algorithms that way. Also, it's hard to tell where your customers will come from with marketing. For now, I think it's best to post on social media. The results will be seen in the future.

I haven’t tried promoting my gigs on social media yet, so I can’t say from personal experience.
However, I’ve seen others recommend it, so it might be worth experimenting to see if it works for your niche.

You can found potential buyer from Instagram and linkedIn and even from tiktok. But at first you need to identify your target audience and most common platform they are using. It kinds of digital marketing.
for example restaurant business owner promoting their restaurant in instagram. you can offer them your graphics design service.
