Thank you for this insightful post, Kesha! 🙏

It's great to get a clearer understanding of Fiverr's algorithm and the importance of buyer satisfaction. I completely agree that consistently delivering top-notch service and securing positive reviews should always be the primary focus. The reminder about fluctuations in analytics being normal is also reassuring—sometimes it’s easy to get discouraged when impressions dip, but now I know it’s part of the process.

I also appreciate the advice on not over-optimizing. I’ve been tweaking my gig occasionally, but I’ll now take a more measured approach and wait a few weeks to gauge the impact.

And yes, staying active and ensuring timely delivery is key to keeping the algorithm happy!

Thanks again for these tips, Kesha! I’m definitely going to focus on delivering exceptional service, and I’m excited to see the results in the long run. 😊

Ok, it has been a month still no result. After going through this article tweaked a lot of stuff like Gig Image, Meta Title, price, packaging options and adding portfolio. Still no result on the contrary my impressions are dropping.

@Kesha I am always active on Fiverr, and my buyers are satisfied with my work. I consistently deliver quality service, and I have over 1k reviews. However, my gig still isn't ranking well. What steps can I take to improve my visibility and performance?

It’s the question that every new and eager seller has from the moment they hit “publish” on a new gig. It’s one that even more seasoned sellers find themselves pondering from time to time:
“How do I increase my rank and get on the first page?”

Before I spill the tea on Fiverr’s algorithm and what you should consider when trying to improve your ranking, let’s clarify a few things.

For starters, understand that fluctuations in your analytics are completely normal, especially if you are reviewing them daily.

Yes, I know–seeing your impressions take a dip can be absolutely gut-wrenching. But, it’s normal and happens even to the best of them. Expecting to always trend upwards or remain steady simply isn’t realistic, especially with external factors such as the number of buyers on the platform and marketplace trends also playing a role.

So, instead of fixating yourself on monitoring daily changes, focus on long-term trends which will give you a more accurate picture of your performance.

Secondly, remember that Fiverr is a curated marketplace, meaning search results are personalized to each user based on their buying behavior and other data. This means that where you appear on search results when searching from your page may be completely different than what another user would see.

It’s important to keep these two things in mind to avoid undue worry or misinterpreting the situation.

Now, in the cases where your gig is undoubtedly ranking low or declining, here’s what you need to know about our algorithm:

  • Buyer satisfaction is key. Since our algorithm focuses on pushing good quality sellers to relevant buyers, your buyer satisfaction will always play a significant role in your ranking. This means that while focusing on keywords and SEO can be helpful to a certain extent, your top priority should be delivering top-notch service, and securing good public and private reviews.
  • Over-optimizing your profile can backfire. Don’t get me wrong– optimizing your profile is great. Changing it too often, however, can confuse the algorithm and make it less likely that it will push your gigs in relevant searches. If you make changes, give it 3-4 weeks to gauge whether the changes are helping or hurting.
  • Availability matters. As a best practice, it’s always in your best interest to complete your projects efficiently and on time to ensure the algorithm knows you are ready for more work. Further, be mindful of your time away from the platform. While we encourage you to take breaks and turning on Vacation Mode doesn’t directly impact your profile, remember that our algorithm looks at data from recent activity to know which Gigs to push out. Not having recent activity due to long periods of inactivity may cause the algorithm to slow down pushing out your Gigs. Maintaining consistent activity helps keep your gigs visible.

At the end of the day, the hot question of improving your ranking doesn’t have a magic answer or quick fix. Instead, it’s all about being intentional in delivering exceptional service to your clients while also remaining consistent and patient. Focus on these few principles, and before you know it, you’ll be on the road to page one.

Good luck!

Thanks.. I was so worried, so I kept optimizing my gigs daily. Now I understand

I hope this message finds you well. I’ve been an active seller on Fiverr, striving to maintain high-quality standards for my clients. Over the past year, I have consistently:
  • Received positive private and public feedback.
  • Maintained a perfect delivery rate with no cancellations.
  • Delivered projects on time with excellent communication ratings.

Despite this, my success score has not shown any improvement for almost a year. This is puzzling, especially since I’ve ensured that all performance metrics are aligned with Fiverr's guidelines.

I have a few questions to better understand and address this situation:

  1. 1) What specific factors influence the success score beyond private feedback, public reviews, and cancellation rates?
  2. 2) Does the success score have a reset or review cycle, and could mine be stuck or delayed due to technical reasons?
  3. 3) How can I proactively work towards improving my success score if all the visible metrics are already in good standing?
  4. 4) Does the time period for the score’s evaluation affect cases where there are no major negative events for a long time?

Hi @Kesha, thanks for this information.
I have a question. Most buyers nowadays do not rate a review. Even if they do most of them do not leave private reviews (I doubt). What can we do about that? I politely ask them to rate my services (although, I never ask they to leave 5star rating). Some do, others just ignore. What can I do about that? Please help.

Hi there!

Thanks for your question.

I would recommend giving your buyers a heads-up about the private and public review process at the very beginning as you brief them on what to expect during the order process. You can also remind them about it during your final delivery.

Fiverr also sends email reminders to buyers to prompt them to leave a review.

Unfortunately, regardless of how often they are prompted, some buyers just won't be interested in leaving a review. In that case, there is nothing you can really do.

Exactly! So my gig impression went down because of that factor I guess.

It depends on many things.

-Like your gig rice should be aligned with the other sellers who are providing the same service.
-Make a woeful gig image and
-Focus on the gig title and keywords. Keep your main keyword in the title and description.
-Quality delivery is also very important for ranking a gig.
-Also focus on the project deadline.

Actually, there are a lot of things that you will figure out day by day.

It's been a year since I got multiple orders. But when I had late submission of the projects my rank declined. I only received orders from my past clients, no new user. Late submission is a big factor for declining my rank and I am trying to not happen it again. I am doing my best to avoid late submissions now. Hoping to get more orders soon.

Thank you for shedding light on Fiverr’s algorithm and the factors affecting gig ranking! It’s reassuring to know that fluctuations in analytics are normal and that the platform prioritizes buyer satisfaction and quality service.

The insights on avoiding over-optimization and maintaining consistent activity are especially valuable. I’ll definitely keep these in mind as I work on improving my gigs and delivering exceptional service to my clients.

Thanks again for this clear and actionable guidance—it’s a great motivator for sellers at all levels!
