Becoming Top Rated: Here’s what you should know

Dreaming of becoming a Top Rated Seller on Fiverr? You’re in the right place! Today, we’re diving into what it takes to achieve that prized status and unlock exclusive benefits that can elevate your freelance career.

What is Top Rated? 
Top Rated indicates the seller level awarded to top-performing freelancers who consistently deliver high-quality work and provide exceptional experiences for their buyers. Along with receiving the highly coveted badge, Top Rated Sellers also enjoy additional benefits such as Early Payouts, higher gig allotments, and more.

What it takes
To be considered for Top Rated status, you must reach the following criteria: 

• 40 completed orders
• 20 unique clients 
• $10,000+ earnings 
• 9+ success score
• 90% response rate
• 4.7+ rating

While meeting these base criteria is mandatory for consideration, unlike Level 1 and Level 2, promotion to Top Rated is not automatic. In order to become a Top Rated seller on Fiverr,  you must pass a holistic review performed by our evaluation team. Some subcategories may also require additional skills tests before consideration. 

Another thing to note is that the team only focuses on services that fall within high-demand categories. If your service is not listed, you will not be eligible for promotion to Top Rated at this time. Don’t worry, though—the list changes based on market demand, so there’s hope that your subcategory may become eligible in the future. 

The evaluation process
To ensure our vetting process is thorough, the wait time can range from 45 to 90 days, depending on your subcategory. Seller Plus premium members can enjoy the benefits of priority vetting, which means they get pushed to the front of the queue once they become eligible for consideration. Even so, members of the program can still expect to wait a considerable amount of time while our team reviews their profiles. For a complete list of eligible categories and wait times, visit here. 

During the evaluation process, the team is paying attention to four main points:

• Professional Skills- Your proficiency and the quality of deliveries in relation to the scope of services provided.
• Communication and Service- Your overall responsiveness and your ability to set clear expectations and provide a smooth and seamless client experience.
• Professional Presence- The structure of your Gigs and profile, as well as the use of features like an intro video to connect with prospective clients and a portfolio to showcase skills and experience. 
• Compliance with Fiverr's Policies- Verification that your account activity complies with our Terms of Service and Community Standards.

When Fiverr added the "Secret Review System" it tanked the chances of many creators of obtaining TRS, among other changes that really crippled it overall.
The system was fine before they changed everything.

I have a 9 overall succstress score, 5 stars, two (out of 5) of my gigs marked Fiverr's Choice, and I was recently declined in my Top Rated Seller review.

Of course, there's no transparency as to why I was declined. To my knowledge, according to the criteria Kesha states above, the only thing I might be lacking is an intro video on my profile. Although, a TON of TRS VA's don't have them and the ones that I know who've achieved this status have said it changed NOTHING (outside of their head) when they received the label.

How and what they all look at to become TRS is TOP SECRET and we will never know.

Missing the video will certainly not be the reason. I have no video and still (totally unexpectedly) got the TRS badge. When I got the badge, even my gig images were very weak. Only after getting the TRS badge did I make the gig images much better.

They push everyone to make a perfect gig (beautiful image with the ideal dimensions, perfect gig description, video, etc...) and yet you can become a TSR with a simple gig. There must be some secret conditions that make you a TSR, unless they can decide manually to give someone who does not meet all the conditions the badge.

My gigs were far from perfect. That is a fact. Even now they are not as they should be.

Hi! 

Receiving negative reviews is sometimes unavoidable and a normal part of the seller journey. 

As long as your cumulative review rating is 4.7 or higher, you will still be eligible for TRS consideration.

I am pretty sure the most important things are the average sales price, how many sales you generate a month, etc. They do look at professionalism and so on, I assume private reviews as well. I would assume it mostly has to do with how much trouble you were in on the platform, the overall revenue you bring to Fiverr, and obviously your previous and current metrics.

Besides everything you said, one thing people often MISS OUT about TRS is the quality of their own deliveries. 

I believe that to qualify in any category, final deliveries of orders also get evaluated and they need to match the internally defined criterion for that category. So many sellers look at others and say 'Oh, XYZ person is TRS. I think I'm better but why I'm not TRS?'.  

Quality of deliveries which reflects a person's skill set is a MAJOR factor which decides approval or denial.

I doubt someone from Fiverr manually checks reviews and has the expertise for every niche out there. I agree the quality of deliveries could be a factor, but I would assume they rely more on the private reviews the seller got recently, since that obviously showcases the quality of delivery from that seller. But this is all speculation, anyway. I just don't see Fiverr staff having lots of expertise in every niche covered by the website. I think private reviews will speak for themselves. In the end, it's surely a cumulus of things, and they do expect you to have a professional presence and great track record with happy clients. I still think the amount you generated for Fiverr via sales is a major contributor 🙂

While that may be a portion of it now... They changed the rules as to how it was measured overall.
My account rating was overall fantasitc, and on pace for TRS... then they threw all that to the wind and revamped the system... crippling many people's dreams that were within literal days of getting it.
It used to be the rating of your account- then they expanded it to the rating of the average of all your gigs.
Then, they added the secret review system that can impact your satisfaction rate OVERALL.

The system wasnt broken...
