Last month, I took on a client who requested two websites and subscribed to a monthly website maintenance contract.

**Incident 1:** The client asked me to change all their website credentials but provided incorrect login details. When I reached out to clarify, there was no response, and the site later went down. He blamed me, despite my efforts to reach him, and asked me to contact his previous developer to restore the site, which is typically against professional standards. However, I wanted to help him.

**Incident 2:** Upon contacting his previous developer, I discovered the client had a history of scamming, not paying, and claiming refunds while canceling orders. He repeated this with me, canceled the order, took a refund, and falsely reported that I was responsible for the site issues. Fiverr’s policy seemed to side with the client, and I received a warning.

It’s frustrating that, on some platforms, clients can manipulate the system to cancel orders and harm a freelancer’s reputation, leaving limited options for sellers to defend themselves.
