Question

Hello, I've noticed that several of us are experiencing various issues with the success score since the recent updates. That’s why I’d like to share my problem along with a few observations. I've been a seller on Fiverr for a little over a year now and have never had any issues until now. All of my stats are at their maximum: I have a 5/5 overall rating, 18 unique clients, 21 completed orders, a 100% response rate, and my earnings are twice the required amount to reach Level 2. My success score was at 6, and overnight, without any changes in my stats, my success score dropped to 4.

I read on the forum that deadline extensions could negatively affect our scores. However, it’s very common for clients to request modifications that add work and, consequently, more time. I don’t see why we should be penalized in these cases, especially since the available option doesn’t specify that using a deadline extension will harm us, which I find unfair. Additionally, I read on the forum that some clients may leave private, anonymous reviews that we can’t see, in addition to the public reviews we have access to. I would like to know, in that case, how sellers are supposed to have the opportunity to defend ourselves if an unfair review is given. Thank you for reading, and I hope, if not for changes, then at least for an explanation.

In my experience, deadline extensions definitely seem to impact success scores. Many of my clients need extra time to review and finalize projects due to their busy schedules, which means I often extend delivery times to meet their expectations and avoid cancellations. Unfortunately, this has affected my delivery time and conflict-free order rate negatively, even though the delays aren’t my fault. It’s frustrating to see my success score affected by something outside my control.

According to Fiverr, these factors influence a drop in your seller level:

The Overall Success Score is calculated based on individual Gig scores. You can review each score and expand the dropdown to see specific areas that Fiverr’s algorithm flags as your strengths or areas for improvement

This is what Fiverr says about revisions and delivery extensions:

Order extension: Its just a rumour. In my opinion, it does not affect the success score as long as buyer is happy and understands why order duration has been extended.

Private Reviews: Yes, it affects and drives our success score. Most likely, your success score fell from 6 to 4 because of private reviews only! And we cannot defend ourselves or take any actions to improve it. Only remedy is to deliver more orders and hope that those buyers leave good private reviews too.

Thanks for your answers, about the private review what i dont understand is why would clients give a public 5 stars review but put a negative one in private, it doesnt make any sense right ?

None. I wonder the same thing myself

Sure, some buyers might feel uncomfortable giving honest feedback if they know the seller will see it, so in those cases, I get it. But there is still a large group who do not hesitate to leave unfair or unrealistic reviews, even knowing the seller will read them. Plus, having two separate review metrics does not help sellers; it just adds to the confusion

I tried to contact the Fiverr support but its obviously just bots, if any of you have an idea of how to escalate the issue to human representatives in charge at Fiverr, so we can have some real help that would be great, as I find it quite surprising that we're left stranded with only bots as our point of contact
