Promoted Gigs option - initial impressions

I began using the Fiverr Promoted Gigs option a few days ago. I've been rather impressed.

My strategy was as follows:

  • First - Target my top-selling Gig ($3/day ceiling)
    • Outcome
      • Lots of impressions
      • A few clicks
  • Second - Target a Gig with no sales ($3/day ceiling)
    • Outcome
      • Minimal impressions
      • No clicks
  • Third - Broad front approach - all Gigs ($5/day ceiling)
    • Outcome
      • Additional impressions on top-selling Gig
      • A few impressions gradually building up on lower-priority Gigs
    • Hold in this pattern
  • Future strategy
    • Continue broad front approach
    • Gradually increase $/day ceiling
    • Measure response

As of now, I have not yet used up the very kind $10 upfront gift allowance.

What is the final outcome, beyond impressions and clicks. Any message from the client through promoted gigs? Did you get any order?

A couple of years back I read someone's experience on the forum that, he got orders worth $300-400 from the initial $10 gift card!!

That post still crosses my mind sometimes🙈 - I wish to be that lucky on life's roulette.🥰

And how can one know if that $10 had not been used, those orders would not have come anyway?

Probably None !

Otherwise your question has been directly answered right in the captions of that thread.
However, I wish him all the best 🤞 Always doing something to make your way forward is the key, exhausting all possibilities at hand.

The number of impressions generated by the Gig Promotion algorithm is quite substantial - especially for my best Gig.

What I do observe, thus far:

  • Not sure how the impressions are distributed against the Gig keywords
  • Historically, I suspect that I have had a higher clicks-per-impression ratio

I'm open to giving the algorithm a decent amount of time to find its way. It is an experiment, after all.  😊 🙏

It’s definitely a valid point to consider how the $10 influences order visibility. The Gig Promotion algorithm can generate significant impressions, particularly for high-performing gigs, but understanding the distribution against specific keywords is crucial. Your higher clicks-per-impression ratio suggests that your gig resonates well with viewers, which is a positive sign. Giving the algorithm time to optimize is a smart approach—data over time will help clarify its impact. Keep experimenting, and best of luck! 😊

If your Fiverr profile says you speak basic English, you couldn't have written this text yourself.

For about a year before I canceled Seller Plus this month, my main gig was not getting indexed properly. Yes, there were some negative keywords that were an issue, but also a whole collection of positive ones that were all of a sudden being completely ignored, and it made absolutely no sense that all of a sudden buyers stopped searching with them. Two days before I cancelled my subscription, I started to see them come back to the top positions of my top keywords.

I also found a lot of other problems with the stats on promoted gigs that I reported as bugs to CS and pretty much was ghosted in regards to. You seem like a very methodical person, so it will be interesting to see how it all unfolds for you--if you continue to share. I hope that you do.

Thank you very much for your wise observations.  🙏😊

I will most definitely continue sharing my experiences with Gig promotion.

Recent observations:

  • The algorithm seems to manage my best Gig well when it is the only Gig being promoted.
  • An overall broad approach seems to spread the impressions around, but damp out the best Gig substantially - probably to be expected.

I've put the Promote Gigs project on hold for a while - until I feel I have a budget I'd feel comfortable burning.

  • Despite a lot of impressions for my best Gig - there were a few clicks, but no orders
  • The ratio of impressions to clicks to orders seemed different to my historical experience
  • I wondered if the impressions were being targeted effectively, or not
  • The broad-brush attack for my poorer Gigs didn't have many impressions

Until next time. 😊

I didn't get there, but the initial gift they shared brought $100 or so in revenue for me. Now since the program is open to pretty much everyone, it's way harder to get that kind of return. That's why I keep the overall amount paid very low. If I do get orders from promoted gigs, that always keeps me in the positive. But the ROI is not as good as it once was, I will tell you that. It's still worth the money though, in my opinion of course. The problem is that a lot of "give me work" people click on the promoted gig, so it can be a waste sometimes. But I am always in the green with the program, so there you go.
