How to Encourage Order Creation Before Starting Work?

a1_cad

Question

Hi everyone,

As a new seller on Fiverr, I often receive requests from clients asking me to complete their work without creating an order first. I understand that they want to see the quality of my work, but I'm hesitant to push them too hard for fear they might leave without placing an order.

What’s the best way to handle these situations? I want to express that I can only start working once an order is created, but I also want to maintain a good rapport with potential clients. Any tips on how to communicate this effectively would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Professional buyers will NEVER ask you to create/deliver work before placing the order. Its usually the modus operandi of scamming buyers who want to get away with free work.

You can always tell them that, "you're excited to start and deliver the work they need. You're looking forward to completing the 'order placement formalities', so that you can start the work."

Yes, exactly! Also, professionals will have good spelling, grammar and language skills and their profiles will be filled out complete with a profile picture. They will also understand the rules that asking for a seller's email address for any reason is against Fiverr's rules.

Thank you for the advice. I completely understand that professional buyers should follow the order process. However, since most of my inquiries come from new buyers who might not be familiar with Fiverr’s procedures, I try my best to guide them. I believe every client is important, and I want to provide a unique experience for them. My goal is to ensure they understand the process while also protecting myself as a seller.

I’ll definitely use your suggestion to encourage them to place an order before starting the work, and I appreciate your insights!

Thank you for pointing that out. It’s true that professional buyers usually have complete profiles and a good understanding of Fiverr's rules. However, since I often receive messages from new buyers who might not be fully aware of how the platform works, I want to be patient and help guide them through the process. I believe some new clients are genuine but just need a bit of assistance to understand how things work here. Your insights are valuable, and I'll keep them in mind as I continue to navigate these interactions.
