 There are some industries in which we think we know what logos buyers are looking for. But in some cases – we simply have no clue! 

Guess what–buyers don’t know either! 

While buyers know a lot about the industry they are in, they don’t necessarily know what logos would work for their industry.

What happens is that they either put the most obvious keyword or they don’t put one at all. The result is that the logos that they get might be nice, and it might even be what they asked for– but they won’t buy it. 

When they see it they just know – it won’t fit. 

It is our job to then provide them with what they need even if they don’t know it yet – and maximize conversion! 

Today, we'll explore five industries—event planning, photography, kids' brands, computer software, and woodworking—to analyze common design elements and recommend effective strategies to maximize sales.

Based on our findings, here’s what we recommend:

In any industry, buyers are looking for logos that are easily recognizable, memorable, and complementary to their aesthetic. Event planning businesses often seek logos that are memorable, visually appealing, and versatile. They often prioritize universal appeal to attract a diverse clientele.

 Focus on the brand name, allowing for flexibility across various event themes

 Incorporate floral motifs, geometric shapes, or abstract patterns to reflect the desired brand personality

: Choose fonts that align with the brand's vibe. Script fonts for elegance, sans-serif for modernity, and serif for tradition

 Consider gold for luxury, pastels for warmth, and bold colors for excitement

Designing logos for photography brands requires a delicate balance of creativity, professionalism, and personalization. To help buyers refine their vision, consider designing with specific niches in mind—like Wedding photography, Nature photography, Events, Family portraits, etc.

: Use nature elements (leaves, flowers, trees) for outdoor or nature photography, geometric shapes (like hearts or wedding rings) for specific genres, or abstract icons for artistic expression.

 Vibrant colors are essential for kids' brands, as they attract attention and reflect the playful nature of the products

The goal of this industry’s logos is to communicate innovation, technology, reliability, and connection.

Incorporate abstract shapes and symbols like clouds or data lines to convey innovation and digital solutions

Opt for modern sans-serif fonts (like Helvetica, Roboto) for a clean, futuristic look, or monospaced fonts to mimic coding and technology

Feature blues and greens for trust and reliability, with occasional use of bold colors like red or orange to symbolize innovation and energy.

Woodworking logos often emphasize craftsmanship, natural materials, and a sense of warmth and tradition.

Go beyond a log icon! (Think outside the wooden box?) Consider using icons like trees, paper, or abstract elements to represent the craft.
