Question

Hey Fiverr Community,
I’m posting today out of frustration and a desire to hear if others have faced a similar situation with Fiverr’s Success Score system. I’ve recently encountered some major setbacks, and I’m hoping to understand if there’s any way to navigate these issues or at least gain clarity.
Here’s what’s going on:
For the past three years, I’ve worked hard on Fiverr to build a successful freelance business. I’ve maintained a perfect 5-star rating with 84 reviews and zero negative feedback. My communication has always been prompt (usually responding within an hour), and I’ve consistently delivered my projects ahead of schedule. Yet, despite all this, I recently saw my Success Score drop significantly, and I was demoted to Level 0.
What’s baffling is that none of my public reviews reflect any dissatisfaction. For example, one recent client even wrote, “I really love it!! Thank you so much!! It’s literally everything I said, and it looks really good. I’m ready to proceed with the next step!”—and yet, somehow, my score continues to drop. It’s been suggested that private reviews might be the culprit, but as sellers, we’re given no visibility into this. How can we improve or address concerns if we aren’t made aware of what’s wrong?
Here’s where it gets even more confusing:
On top of the Success Score drop, I received a notification that my “level progress is on hold due to a violation of Fiverr’s policies,” but I have no idea what this violation even is. There’s been no explanation, no indication of what I supposedly did wrong, and now I’m unable to advance or promote my gigs until November 16, 2024. I’ve always adhered to Fiverr’s policies, and I’m left completely in the dark about why this happened.
For context, I’ve been nearing $10k in sales and have received nothing but positive reviews. This sudden downgrade feels like a major setback, and I’m genuinely confused about how Fiverr’s system works. It seems like a system designed to penalize sellers without offering us the chance to understand or correct any issues.
Some key concerns I have:
1. Lack of transparency – Private reviews are affecting my Success Score, but without knowing what clients might be unhappy with, it’s impossible to improve.
2. Unexplained level hold – I’ve received no details about what policy violation I’m supposedly guilty of. How can I fix something I’m unaware of?
3. Inconsistency in feedback – Publicly, clients seem thrilled with my work, so why am I being penalized behind the scenes?
At this point, I’m questioning Fiverr’s priorities. Don’t they want to support a five-star-rated seller who consistently delivers high-quality work? It feels like Fiverr’s system is punishing sellers rather than encouraging growth and improvement.
I’ve found success on other platforms like UpWork, where transparency is much higher and feedback is clearer, but I’ve invested a lot of time and energy into Fiverr, and I’d rather not abandon it. However, the current situation makes it difficult to maintain confidence in the platform.
Has anyone else experienced this?
How have you navigated the Success Score drop or level progress hold?
And most importantly, is there any hope for greater transparency from Fiverr in the future?
I’d appreciate any advice or similar experiences from the community, as this situation has been incredibly frustrating, and I know I’m not alone in facing these challenges.
Looking forward to your thoughts!
Best,
Dustin
