Fiverr is full of talented freelancers who are enthusiatic to provide exceptional services to buyers like you. Whether this is their full-time job or a side hustle, our sellers usually put in significant effort to ensure they are servicing you with professionalism and excellency. On that same token, as a buyer, we encourage you to also be mindful to create a pleasurable experience for your freelancers. Here are a few tips on how to be the customer of every Fiverr freelancer’s dream:

Do your research and be clear on what you’re looking for- In order for a freelancer to nail your project expectations, they must be clear on what you’re looking for. Before engaging a seller, conduct relevant research that could help you precisely communicate your needs. While freelancers can answer questions and give suggestions based on their expertise, having a solid understanding of what you desire will save both of you time and prevent excessive revisions.

Vet freelancers- With so many freelancers to choose from, take time to thoroughly review their profile including their description, ratings, FAQs, and portfolio. Doing this ensures you're choosing the right fit for your project and avoiding mismatches.

Reach out before placing an order- While there are certain gigs you can order without prior communication with the seller, we always recommend messaging the seller beforehand. This helps confirm that they can take on the project and allows you to align on timeline, cost, workflow, and expectations. This can also avoid future cancellations and delays in getting your project completed.

Submit Order Requirements in a timely manner- One common mistake buyers make is delaying submitting the Order Requirements after placing the order. Freelancers can’t start work without them, so not submitting them in time may disrupt their schedules or impact delivery times.

Stay in touch- Once your order is placed, keep an eye on your messages. Freelancers may need to reach out to you for clarification, updates, or even feedback on early drafts to make sure your project is on track.

Submit revisions clearly and quickly-  Revisions are a normal part of the order workflow and sellers are usually happy to make them. Submit any revisions as soon as possible and be thorough in your requests. It’s also best to submit all revisions at once so you can minimize any back-and-forth. If needed, consider using aids like Loom or marking up PDFs and screenshots to make sure your edit requests are clear.

Leave a ratings and reviews- At the end of each order, you will be prompted to leave both a public review and a private one. Though this step is not mandatory it’s a great way to support your seller. Your feedback helps them grow and improves their reputation on the platform.

At the end of the day, a successful Fiverr experience is a two-way street. By following these tips, not only are you more likely to have a smooth experience on Fiverr but you’ll also be able to  build positive relationships with your freelancers who are passionate about delivering their best work.
