How to analyze if someone (whose profile is on Fiverr from many years) is sending fake buyer request?

ibtisam_ch

Question

Hello!

I have received three scam messages already (taking to telegram, brand new account with suspicious file etc). Today someone messaged me for my Gig but shared a link & then once I sent back Hello, I am unable to send another message. They are on Fiverr since 2016. So it was a fake or scam message/client?

What should be done if someone sends in a file or link as their first message along with hello? Should we be open to ask for details in text to know more about the person genuinely? please guide.

Also if they are scam, is it necessary to block them?

Thank you in advance for kind suggestions.

Please know that if someone sends you a link or a file, you shouldn't open it. Such files might contain viruses that can lead to data theft. Clicking on those links/files puts your account in danger. It is of utmost importance to report those users to our Customer Support and to block them.

We strongly recommend not opening suspicious links, QR codes, or files from senders you have not contacted directly. Please be aware that Fiverr will never contact you via inbox to request payments, passwords, or private information.

Hi!

Thank you very much Lena. I will keep this in mind to not take someone serious who starts the chat with links or files directly.
