How to rate not a bad review.

samuell_sk

Question

Hellou,

Sam here,

I wanted to ask. I am here for a few months, things were going great dunno like 30 orders after me with various sellers. Since one of them decided to quit i was looking for a new one. I found one. When he completed order i told the guy privately that his work is nowhere near what was expected of him. He got plenty examples...
No f words no rudness as far as i can tell, simply statements.

I also told him that i wont be ordering again - this was a test order after all. So i rated him with 5 with a message that it was a test order.
The only truth in his review against me that i refused the revision. Well that was not about revision, his skills simply did not matched while stating "sure no problem", there is no point wasting time. It would not be a revision but total rework if you need to keep few pixels and rest needs to be exchanged/reworked.

I kept this attitude with my previos seller. If i order like 10 items and 2 missed the mark by miles. Ok no problem. I ve made the order again cause i vauled his time. We worked together for months.

image.png.0b5749440159225e0e7762aef9d67ceb.pngI whited
I whited out his name / dates.
So I bashed him with bad review right away? You cannot change your review after seller reacts to it. Might have been misunderstood but 5 is the most right ? The best what you can get ? Its not the oposite like in school where 1 is the best and 5 is the worst ? Cause i ve been rating like this for like 6 months and previous sellers did not had a problem with it.

Cause clearly I m here in wrong cause support (two seperate individuals actually) agree with him, while failing to explain to me (asked like 4times what is wrong with my review, why is it bad...). So did something changed or was i giving the bad reviews all this time ?

Thank you.

So what buyers might not know is that sellers don't see their reviews until they make a review themselves - basically, you leave a review (e.g. you left this), 20 minutes pass (this allows you to change your review if you want if you made a mistake I think), we get a prompt to rate you, and THEN we can see what you left.

If the seller is new, I can see them potentially thinking that what you told them (this is not what I wanted, etc.)was the public review,

OR

They panicked when they saw what you wrote in their inbox (before the actual review) and thought thay they would be protecting themselves by leaving such a negative review to you (e.g telling their side of the story) .

I would think that it's the second case - they thought you'd leave a bad review and thought 'oh well'...

The system is definitely a bit odd so I can totally see why you're wondering what could have happened though!

I'm curious though, what did support tell you exactly to suggest you're in the wrong?

Hellou Katka.

I in advance told the seller that this would be test order and if he fails he will still get the 5 stars. I am not malicious. I actually told him that after he delivered that i am leaving 5 and not want to lower his rep, not want to be doing more orders with him either.

The point is support is seeing this (now its 3 people from the team 😄  ). That review is not a fake one and still failing to provide why it does not violates the rules, when clearly there it is and refusing to delete the bad review for my person that is not based upon the experience with me what so ever.

I actually do not care about the review /stars at this point my sellers migrated off the fiverr becouse of the fiverss respresentatives are doing bad job to moderate and try to review cases properly and i am working with my sellers privatelly. The only thing that is important is this injustice. You cannot claim (as you yourself told me just now) you could not seen the review as seller, if that is the truth, you cannot make the review that i ve bashed him with bad review that is clearly telling a lie cause at that point he has no idea what i wrote, clearly violating the fiverr rules stated in the fiverrs comunity standards as false review

Thank you.

Oh the seller is absolutely did not do what's right for their profile.

If I saw this on their profile (and say your review) I would be deterred from working with then UNLESS they had a lot of other good reviews - AND could prove that they can provide what I want.

However - and this is a huge however, as a seller, you are prepared for everything.

Many buyers say they will give good reviews (and then lie) and some might even threathen sellers. I'm not saying you did - I'm just saying that a seller, not everything is black and white. There's no guarantee that your review is going to be positive. You can't take what's told to you for granted, which puts you on edge.

Now - in all genuine honesty this isn't what I would have done as a seller at all - and it will likely make a much worse mark on them, than you.

But I can understand why they might have freaked out.

Now - what they said isn't true, but you DID tell them that you don't like their work off the bat. If they considered that the review (which again, some sellers might misunderstood it) I'm not surprised if they said what they did.

As for CS, well, they have their protocols. Trust me they are usually on the buyer's side. I would say that the response you got is definitely weird but likely doesn't go against guidelines enough (e.g. it might not be the full truth but it's not full of curses or threats.) I'm guessing that's why they can't help - the seller stated their opinion. You reached out to them after the delivery, said you don't want a redo etc - that's all true. Now it's not public though, so again the seller might suffer much more than you from it.

It's a weird misunderstanding at best and the strange seller at most, I'd say. I totally understand the frustration though, but I really don't think the review can be deleted because it's not offensive/ etc.

That says only one thing, that either he had time to see mine and did it on purpose or did not had time / cared and did that anyway. In either way by my opinion that is a cause he lied. Why he lied does not really matter (to protect himself...) He could still as seller open the request just like me... And try to battle the system in which onone cares.

It is wrong, and i m only seeking that.

If you want to see if it is black and white, than please judge me. This is the only conversation that we had, at september 10 at 10:10 ? he delivered, i wrote review and messaged him back, at 10:40 he wrote his review. My next message (not knowing that he left bad review was at 8:18 or around 9-10 hours later to further explain what he did wrong cause he "asked" for course correction.

There is nothing in the private chat indicating that he had a bad / rude experience. Nor i think that i was rude after delivery comment or that it is worth of 1 star public bashing me.

but as i said before, Please judge me what you can see here. It is actually quite refreshing to write here with some reasonable person, since my spriter left was looking for a new one and only now (and i told that to my old one) that he was a blessing that i ve found and how valuable he is.

Again, sellers do NOT see your review before they place theirs. We just simply don't.

As for why he didn't write to CS - he either did (and hasn't been answered or was rejected) or felt too scared to do it.

Saying he lied flat out is a harsh here because you said 'you failed miserably' to him.

Your order would be rated 'five' feels like an odd phrasing to me as well - as a seller I'm not sure I'd believe it. CS might err on that side as well. The seller was given your honest opinion I'm the inbox- there was no way for him to know what you would say.

His review WAS unprofessional however. That is true for sure.

The seller definitely rated you quickly (and probably overreacted) but I genuinely thing the communication was lacking from both sides.

On one hand, the seller should have shown you what he was working on the make sure your expectations match up, on the other, you didn't even let them try again - and quite honestly, while you were blunt (which is fine) you could be read as rude.

In the end I'm no judge - I think both parties could have done better. Sometimes a little bit of tact while writing helps a lot - not that you're obliged to be nice and not show you're disappointment to a seller who didn't deliver what you wanted but words do make a huge difference.

If CS says it can't be removed, sadly I think that's how it is.

Yes you stated before they you dont. That is ok. This is schrodingers cat problem. Well not entierly. It was stated 2 times what will happend.
So we gave a plate of cat food and in 10 minutes it came out empty. We can assume that the cat is still alive.

In the end it just shows persons moral compass and values.

Yes i ve could have done better not arguing there. But also the seller. I at least stated that as before notified seller that am man of the word and will uphold the "deal" 🙂

But not everything is a bad that happend to me. I learned a lot from this experience. Do not trust and rate peoples work and dont even try the support. Even from you, like they do not see the reviews. Its a good thing. It shows how you should be using the platform.

Thank you for your time.
