Your Fiverr Journey

Understanding how to get impressions on your gigs is important when looking to succeed on Fiverr. But as you may know, receiving impressions is only half the story. What matters most is turning those impressions into clicks; a huge part of that is having gig visuals that wow! Not only is this your chance to make a positive first impression on potential buyers, but it is also your opportunity to stand out amongst the hundreds of other sellers all vying for the buyer's attention.

So, how do you pick the perfect gig visuals? While there are no strict rules, you have several options. You can showcase samples of your work, use a photo of yourself, add text, or use a combination of these things. Here are some best practices for each option:

This works best for visual categories such as logos and graphic designs. Since these visuals will directly represent your work and style, image quality and size are important to pay attention to. The clearer and more detailed the visuals, the better. Also, make sure your samples are not cut off, obstructed, or compromised in any way.

When adding text, refrain from repeating the words already on your gig title. Instead, use the text to either add credibility or simplify your offering. Pay close attention to placement, size, colors, and fonts. You want everything to be easy to read and to avoid making the design too busy. A good rule of thumb is to keep text to no more than 60% of your image. You can balance the other 40% with visuals such as a photo of yourself, icons, graphs, etc.

This is a great way to add familiarity and personality to your gigs. You can opt for a headshot, avatar, or an animation of yourself. Whichever you choose, just make sure it aligns with the brand you wish to create. The image should be clear and professional, and don’t forget to smile!

Videos are a great way to showcase your individuality and stand out in the marketplace. They work especially well if you provide video or animation services, or you have complex information that’s difficult to convey through a simple image. For best results, ensure your video is high quality, with good lighting, and only appear on screen if you feel confident on camera. As effective as they can be, a video can have the opposite effect if not executed properly.

Carousels work well if you’ve added a video but also want to add additional slides to simplify your offerings or show samples of your work. These are great for instances where you might want to showcase a range of skills, or if your information can’t fit on one slide. When using a carousel always add the most eye-catching or relevant information to the first slide.

If you have multiple gigs, consider having cohesive branding across all of them. This means using consistent layouts, color schemes, and fonts across your gig images. Not only does it showcase professionalism, but it also allows you to become more recognizable in the marketplace.

Ultimately, your gig visuals play a major role in your click rate. Whether you choose to incorporate samples, text, video, or a carousel, always aim for something professional, eye-catching, and comprehensive of what you are offering.
