One of the things I don't like about Fiverr...

Recommended Posts

Hello Community! After a few months, I'm back on the forum, this time to vent, if you could say so...

Starting with the fact that I'm a designer (this is an area that can easily lend itself to over-hiring and scams) this month, after months without orders because with the new level system I was left with a score of 4 and as Low Performance (I was Level 2), they suddenly converted me to Level 0 and with that, my profile was activated again, thanks to my work, I went up to Level 1, with that, sales skyrocketed, I had never received so many orders as until now and I, happy (deluded), in this wave of new orders, clients arrived that I never received, and in less than 30 days I have had 4 cancellations, why? Because yes, because the "client" after receiving the proposals says that he didn't like anything and that he simply doesn't want to continue with the order.

In the first 2 cancellations I was very understanding because yes, it's okay if you don't want to continue and that's it, but the last 2 and especially today's, are borderline shameless, since when they request the cancellation they indicate that they are designers and that they are subcontracting, so that for x reason, they don't want to continue, so far none of these 4 requests indicate to me that they are subcontractors or designers at the beginning, but once I deliver the proposals, another thing they do at the beginning is say that if everything goes well, they will hire other services in addition to the logo design, and then throw it in my face when they want to cancel and say that thanks to my little effort, they won't be able to move forward in the future.

Something that these profiles share are the following points:
1. They don't have a profile photo
2. They don't have recent reviews from other freelancers, or they simply don't have reviews.
3. They tell you that depending on the initial work, they will hire other services.
4. For some reason, they don't have problems with the total delivery times.
5. They don't fully fill out the initial Question Form.
6. You find out that the order is outsourced after you've delivered the work.
7. After canceling, they don't leave you a public review.

The experience I had today was terrible and given the 3 previous cancellations, I didn't want to accept one more on my profile since I had already sent the proposals to the client, so I offered her the maximum refund that Fiverr offers of 60%, or a time extension, since her first comment was that she was doubting the name of the brand and needed time to define it, after I mentioned my offer and that she couldn't cancel, she completely changed her speech, she simply discounted all my work, indicating that she was a designer and that she could have done it better, that what I delivered to her couldn't have taken more than 1 hour ???

At this point and to avoid confrontations, I went directly to Fiverr Service, opened a ticket, explained the situation and attached the order number so they could read the conversation... The response was more discouraging than the situation I already had with the order, in short, Fiverr told me that I had to negotiate with the client, but how do you negotiate with someone who has already received your work, but who already said that she doesn't like it? After this, the buyer left me other comments, and even indicated that she was "fed up with my antics", this again I referred to the Fiverr ticket, since at no time did I disrespect her, enough for her to address me in that way, again Fiverr, "understands my situation", but I must directly reach an agreement with her; Frustrated by the time and work spent on this order, and seeing that Fiverr would not enter into the negotiation, I simply cancelled the order, and what a coincidence that this buyer "so upset and dissatisfied with my work" has not left me a bad review (which I suppose is private, but this level of upset is enough to make you expose me, right?)

Thanks to these cancellations I am again at risk of losing my level, without knowing if I will be Level 0, or if I will be demoted again to Low Performance, once again the uncertainty about my financial income, but apart from that, I am left with the feeling that Fiverr does not look out for its sellers, that in situations like these, where it is clearly a theft of work, they do not take the seriousness that they have as a platform, to defend those of us who do the work, these "clients" buy, receive the work, cancel the order, get their money back, and deliver other people's work outside, get paid for it, and come back for more, they do not have levels, they are not demoted their profile, they don't even get any warnings, as long as they buy and keep moving money within the platform, it is very unfair that sellers can't expose profiles until they leave a review, because then they keep buying, with a "clean" profile and how does the next seller know that this customer is trustworthy? Simply injustice and deception.
