Client purchased gig, now says he doesn't need service.

Question

Buyer purchased a gig and completed the requirements yesterday.  Today he says he hired someone else and doesn't need my services.  Do I cancel the gig on my side?  Do I ask him to cancel the gig from his side?  I am a new seller and every client review counts!  How should I proceed to have the least impact to my ratings?

Doesn't matter! Mutual cancellation works both ways.

Discussed this with buyer and he said to keep the five dollars and submit the order as complete.

Delivering a blank order or wrong files is a violation of terms. Yes, you have the buyer's consent, but I would recommend first contacting customer support and getting their permission on this.

Make a screenshot of the agreement and deliver the file of the screenshot.
In this case you do not deliver an "empty" order and you also prove that the buyer agreed.
