Suggestion: Fiverr could fix the bug that says a seller is an expert at a skill they have said they aren't expert in

Recommended Posts

It's important for buyers on Fiverr to see an accurate list of the skills a seller has. If a seller is only intermediate skill level at something it would be misleading to buyers if a seller put for that skill that they are an expert at it. Yet the Fiverr system automatically shows, for skills that sellers have put as "intermediate" (not expert)  "<skill or profession name> expert". That will be misleading to buyers. I told CS about this issue 2 months ago but nothing seems to have changed about it.

As an example to show the bug:

1. Start adding a new skill of background removal, selecting "Intermediate" as the skill level, not the option for "Expert" which is also available.

2. Click the "Add" button.

3. Click "Preview Fiver Profile" or view the profile in a logged out browser.

As shown above, it now incorrectly and misleadingly puts "expert" on the end of the entered skill, when "intermediate" was selected as the skill level (not the "expert" option).

So currently there might be thousands of seller profiles with multiple seller skills that are incorrectly showing "expert" when the sellers had actually put "intermediate", which might be misleading any buyers who view those profiles and view the skill list.

Oh, come on, UK. Didn't you know after all this time that here, at Fiverr, we're all "exparts"? 😁

we've talked about this so many times. I was honestly surprised when you pointed this out.

High time they fix this.

I thought I'd put a proper thread here about it as it's more likely to have staff see it/get fixed if it's here in a official Fiverr feedback section. Skills had been talked about yesterday in multiple threads and I'd remembered about this issue with them (and the fact there's no way for users to very quickly/easily tell whether a seller actually did put 'expert' for a particular skill. It's in the page source but that won't be that quickly/easily found) and I checked to see if this issue was still there and it was, so decided to write it more in depth here.
