New user giving low rating.

Recommended Posts

I'm diligently working towards becoming a successful seller on Fiverr, and I must say, Fiverr's rating system and performance metrics are outstanding—the best in the industry.

However, I've noticed that some new clients, unfamiliar with how the platform works, inadvertently leave low ratings on their first order. This unintentional action can significantly impact a seller's performance metrics.

It's frustrating for sellers, and I hope Fiverr will introduce a solution to address this issue.

I'm not entirely sure if I did the right thing by bringing up this topic. The client seemed very happy in the chat, which might have led me to overestimate their satisfaction. Since they weren't familiar with Elementor, it made them uncomfortable. Additionally, my internet connection was disrupted, and I wasn't sure when it would be restored. With my delivery time running out, I requested a revision so I could address the issues once my internet was back, but the client may have misunderstood how the process worked.

Also, I'm not just talking about this client. Another client, who was new to Fiverr, also gave me a low rating initially. However, they later placed another order and left a full five-star review.

This is why I believe new clients might unintentionally give low ratings.

I recently came across the same situation. One of my clients who just joined fiverr and it was their first order and in chat he was happy and all but when he accepted the order he gave me 4.3 stars 🌟. I got upset that the level of service that i provided him was not worth 4.3 stars and it dropped my flawless 5 star ratings to 4.9. I contacted support and they gave me an ai generated response you better know what. I didn't gave up tbh & decided to improve the output quality of my work and recently just got 2 back to back 5 stars and my overall rating is back to 5 again.

Grind never stops bro!

To be honest, a 4.3 score is not a bad score.

Yeah i agree but at that particular moment i was like why he gave me a 4.3 as i was getting all 5's . I now know that you can't satisfy every single client completely.

Even new buyers don't give internal reviews

Pursuit of excellence is a noble thing and in an ideal world, each of us would like to have only 5-star ratings on our profiles.

But if I was a buyer - I would trust a seller more who has 90-95% 5-star ratings and a few scattered lower ratings. It means the seller is human (not a generative AI tool), her/his performance can fluctuate occasionally like a normal person and is NOT CURATING perfect reviews on the profile.

And I heard this quote in the final season of "Umbrella Academy" yesterday:

Perfection is boring by Diane Faye on Dribbble

Agreed 👍. But in my case if i am purchasing a service from someone online i would really prefer someone with multiple 5 🌟's rather than a few goods and few bads. I bet majority of the people would also prefer that!

Patience and persistence are the key. A low rating leaves a scar but then it motivates you to do better next time! It also gives you a chance to learn from the mistakes you have made in the past.
