Am I being scammed by fiverr ?

magzdigi

Question

I have been trying to get verified all morning. I published 3 gigs, and people are approaching me, and then wehn i go to get verified, problems happen.  I tried two credit cards and a debit card to get verified. None of the m worked.  When I called my Canadian credit card company, they told me thta its because its dealing with crypto, and they will block it. So then the tech person send me to an unveriied email, and then they were sending me an email address to send them $450 cad.. They told me it was needed to be verified, then they would send it back. I called paypal, cause they blocked the email, and told me I was most likely being scammed.    Like WHAT ?????

Im so frustrated.  It has been a nightmare, and all I really want is just to start working.  Why does Fiverr make it such an awful process ? Why is crypto being used to verify a credit card ? I dont undersand any of this to be honest ?

Is this a legit website ?    https://fiverr.websssafe.com/  ???

No, you were not getting scammed by Fiverr. You were getting scammed by a scammer. That website is not the official one. Why would Fiverr use any domain other than fiverr.com? No legitimate company uses strange domains other than their official domain.

It's just common sense that no legitimate service would need $450 for verification. Some platforms (not Fiverr) might charge a small fee for verification, but it's usually around $0.1 or $0.5, not a large amount like $450.

When you started getting so many 'why' questions, didn’t you ask yourself why you were trying multiple credit cards, a debit card, and PayPal? Instead, you could have done some Googling and checked if others have shared their experiences online. There are thousands of threads on forums discussing these scams.
