Hello.

I am a front-end developer and aspiring freelancer and wonder about (cold) messaging/calling potential clients instead of waiting for them to approach you. I am not sure if this practice is viable or not, I do however see a lot of local businesses in my country (Germany) that I believe would benefit a lot from, for example, a new website design. Does anybody here have a position on this matter?

Thanks for reading!

It's the only way you'll be free from the wacky world of freelance platforms.

I've definitely done it before, although I'm not sure if getting into a detailed discussion about it on a freelance platform is the right thing to do.

You mention that you are new to freelancing, and are likely new to Fiverr as well. I'd recommend putting a lot more effort into direct marketing.
