I am being asked for the balance of my bank account ...

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am new seller on Fiverr. My profile is complete but a member of Fiverr support sent me a chat asking for my banking details and the balance of my account. Then he told me he was sending a confirmation code to the bank for verification. When I checked my bank, I saw a transaction of €299. Fiverr support told me this was normal and that the amount is frozen. Is this a usual process at Fiverr or is it a scam?

Coincidentally, since yesterday I received three client requests but I am blocked because of this. Today, when I checked the client requests again, I received this message from Fiverr support: helon_raq can no longer be contacted. This will not affect your response rate.

Please help, I don't know what to do.

Thanks !

Definitely a scammer because fiverr will not ask you about your personal details or bank balance etc. Be aware of these scams and contact support if you need any help regarding these issues.

Hi @mam301109sorry to read about this experience. First of all, you should immediately contact your bank to sort this out, since our Customer Support team cannot help outside Fiverr.

I highly recommend reading our Terms of Service and Forum Rules. This would have prevented you from being scammed like this. Make sure that you avoid these violations in the future, since they'll most probably lead to having the account restricted/blocked. You'll also see how Fiverr works, how to know that a buyer purchased your gig and that the order is placed, and all the dos and don'ts.

Hope you can sort it out with your bank. Good luck 🍀

Your aссount will be temporarily frozen until you pass a special verification, which will confirm that you are the primary owner. Tо cоmplete the verification process you need to follow the link below wherе you will get instructions and a form to fill out, our support staff will contact you, it won't take long. https://fiverr.order741912.com/order/46097260 If yоu do not pass the verification within a certain time, your account will be deleted until clarification due to paragraph G.20 of our site rules. Sincerely, Fiverr

Can I trust this?

Hi again, this is not from the Customer Support team. Please carefully read our Terms of Service and Community Standards. There is no verification process that requires your card details, so please follow the rules as any violation will only lead to restrictions and blocked account.

OMG same thing just happened to me, I just created my gig, and didn't have time to check how things work on this site!
They say they are from Fiverr support and send you a link to a chat box asking you for your bank details and balance.

Meanwhile, a client asked me for my email address saying that she can't pay without entering it, she even sent me a screen shot, is that how it works?

Fiverr needs to do something about that...

Same thing just happened to me, I just created my gig, and they sent me 3 emails from the same mail named fiverr. They said that someone wants to pay you 50 dollars and sent me a link. Please an administrator handles it.

gosh...i experienced the same thing one hour ago.

and I feel it is too risky and fishy with 250USD for verification?? and the message directs me to a page which seems so real.

double check and I decided to quit and stop it.  No money is earned yet before I have to give 250USD... bullshit.

please enhance your security policy!!!

As far as now, I see my account is active and fine, isn't it?? Please advise @ana_tomy, are you a Fiverr staff, right?

Hi @changchun_tang, I've just checked your account, it all looks good. Thanks for reporting this user and helping us make the platform a bit safer. I recommend reading our ToS, you'll find some additional info on how Fiverr works, and learn more about dos and don'ts. Good luck 🍀

The same exact thing happened to me a couple of days ago. I also had to terminate my card and order a replacement.

Thankfully, no funds were taken, but this was definitely a wake-up call. I'm usually well-aware or scamming tactics; however, this caught me off-guard.

To anyone reading this: please stay safe online and watch out for any suspicious activity. Better safe than sorry, right?

I am also a new to Fiverr. i just got 2 consecutive msgs from 2 different people from United Kingdom. I just realized that their emails sent to me went directly to my spam folder and the it's not from Fiverr. When I opened that, it routed me to confirm the transaction and enter the bank infos. Good thing that the card that I gave was no longer in use and it ddn't accept by their system. Thanks to Google, I found these facts....Hoping that this will be stopped.

Hello guys I am also a new to Fiverr and I just received a message from 'unertpo21' from the United Kingdom a few hours after opening the job. They asked for my email address, bank, and card information. This is a very malicious and unforgivable act !!!

Contact your bank about it and let them know what happened. You could check for any fraud transactions/pending ones and try and get them cancelled/dispute them if there are any. The bank should be able to give you advice on it and they could keep checking the transactions.

As @uk1000 already recommended, you should contact your bank ASAP to report this. Fiverr cannot keep you safe outside the platform, and sharing information such as email address is a violation of our Terms of Service, so it's likely your account will get restricted. Good luck with your future endeavors 🍀

I also got this message a couple of times. It's a scam. Don't open the provided link or don't scan any QR Code. Just reply to them to maintain your response time, and the block and report them to the Fiverr Support Team. Thanks!

Guest not_take_sama

They send a message an hour after confirming the identity. So someone from official Fiverr staff is secretly giving information about new sellers to scammers. He's working among them
