How negative keywords work?

As a Fiverr Plus member, I have the option to include negative keywords in my gig. I am curious about how it works.

For instance, I am promoting a gig that offers healthcare website development services. Therefore, my gig ranks on keywords such as healthcare website development and website development. If I add the keyword "website development" as a negative keyword, will my gig still rank on "healthcare website development" keywords? Or will it not rank at all because "website development" is a part of my main keywords?
