Are we forced to spend more on our advertising expenditures here in fiverr in order to still get noticed? or else, we get dragged down?

Im one of the few sellers here in fiverr way back 2013.  Im in the graphics and illustrations category.

Back then, fiverr rewards outstanding performing sellers by making them more searchable, thus more sales.    Those who diligently perform on the METRICS:  Namely: Timely responses,  deliver TOP QUALITY outputs and deliver ON TIME.    For nearly a decade, I illustrated literally hundreds of children's books, and kept my metrics high.

The past year though, I noticed, even if you make all your metrics at above 90%, if you dont spend on fiverr's advertisement, those metrics seem to mean nothing.  it feels like you dont have to perform well with customers, as long as you spend more on fiverr's advertising program, you get more referrals and your account s more searchable.

So I enrolled in seller plus.   It was good at the beginning.

Now, it has been an extended drought.  Does this mean, sellers need to spend more, so my account s back to more "visible" to buyers?  Would appreciate any thoughtful feedback from fellow sellers.  Thank you.

You don't have to. You can just start promoting yourself away from Fiverr and spending money on your business rather than filling Fiverr's coffers with money. It's not like Promoted Gigs lets you target your buyers, is it? You can do that on FB, IG, Google...

...and the customers you get from there, you can work with them without having to bend over backwards to to please Fiverr's awful AI systems that hurt everyone except scammers. Pretty neat, huh?
