Do people message you related to your gig and then just start ignoring you and don't reply to your messages

Hello, it has happened many times with me, that clients will come to me with a message related to their work and will not respond to my messages then. Is it because I am not a good communicator or there is any other reason behind that, does this happen with other sellers too that buyers message them and then don't respond to their messages or am I the only one.
