After the introduction of the new rating system, I harbored hope of advancing to the esteemed title of Top-rated seller, as indicated by the message "You’ve met the criteria for top-rated evaluation." However, the path seems endless. How distant is the attainment of the top-rated status? The answer, my friend, eludes me like a playful gust of wind. 😝

I believe the primary shortcomings of Fiverr's rating system lie in two key areas:

  1. The system's limited scope, with only three levels – one, two, and top-rated – fails to accurately convey a seller's proficiency. Despite maintaining a level-two status since 2011, my progression and accomplishments over the years remain unrecognized by potential buyers. To them, I am simply another level-two seller, indistinguishable from the rest.

  2. The evaluation criteria for becoming a top-rated seller are shrouded in secrecy. Even customer service representatives cannot divulge the specific efforts required to achieve this status. Instead, sellers are left to decipher vague messages like "You’ve met the criteria for Top Rated evaluation" and await uncertain outcomes.

To address these issues, I propose the following solutions:

  1. Overhaul the level system by introducing additional tiers to provide a more nuanced portrayal of sellers' expertise and growth.

  2. If expanding the level system is not feasible, augment the seller's profile display to include not only their level but also their success scores and total completed orders. This would offer buyers a more comprehensive understanding of a seller's capabilities.

  3. Enhance transparency by openly sharing the evaluation standards for top-rated seller status. Empowering sellers with clear guidelines would enable them to take targeted actions toward achieving this prestigious designation.

I think by implementing these improvements, Fiverr can cultivate a more equitable and informative marketplace experience for both sellers and buyers alike.

Also one thing I'd say is - it's not all its cracked up to be. It's validating for sure, but look at your clients, earnings and orders. TRS isn't going to dramatically impact this - and you can be very grateful (as im sure you are) for your success on Fiverr. It can definitely be frustrating, but it really isn't the most important thing - people will go to your gig because of your brilliant reviews and number of orders - not because of your level. For example, if a new person comes to fiverr, they don't really know what Level 1/2/TRS means, they just place orders based off portfolio and reviews!

You do translation which is not currently a fast tracked category so they're not even looking at your profile / category for the time being. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news
