When a customer bought my gig it brought me to the card page which I put in. The after I put everything in it they asked for my bank balance. Which is the first thing I found suspicious. The other was that when I pressed the button to receive the money it told me that they were going to charge me 399 dollars that were not going to be removed from my bank account. Is this a scam? Keep in mind this is my first order received.

Yes, it appears to be a scam actually. Did you really put your card details? Don't do that..

Kindly report that buyer immediately.

I got a similar message

What I see in the attached screenshot looks very suspicious. Fiverr never requires sellers to provide their email address for payment purposes. All transactions on Fiverr are fully handled through their platform.

Here are the red flags that suggest this is a scam:

  1. Suspicious website link: This is likely a fake website pretending to be Fiverr. The official Fiverr URL ends with "fiverr.com," not "fiverr.newpay.shop."
  2. Request for an email: Fiverr never asks sellers to provide their email address for a client to complete payment.
  3. External payment system: Fiverr uses its built-in payment system, not external forms like this one.

What to do?

  • Do not share your email or any personal information.
  • Report this client to Fiverr using the "Report" feature
  • If in doubt, contact Fiverr's official support team through their website.

I almost got caught out of one till I used an alternative email I gave them thats not linked to my ffiver account luckly. I did know it was a bit sketchy till I found this Forum here. I am pretty new to Ffiver myself but, glad theres a community to keep up with scams where new ffivers should be alerted about.

Good day,

I am new here, what about this scenario. Two persons ordered to me and they requested my email address, after that I received a message to click the  button color green "Authenticate" for confirmation of the service.

Are these emails official address from Fiverr?

Launched two new services today. Got messages on one of them within the hour, using exactly the same screenshot asking for my email.

First message from user 1:
НеIIo, I аm interеsted in your ad and wоuld likе to buу it, but I аm hаving problеms Fivеrr аsking for уour e',-mаil to rau for your itеm

First message from user 2:
Нi. Extremely interested in purchаsing your sеrvices. Of аll thе ads, this is ехаctlу what I nееd. I was alrеаdу ready buу but I had а рroblem, I nееd mоrе infоrmatiоn as this is уour first sаlе hеrе. I sеnt a screеnshоt, yоu саn tаkе а lооk. After уou send it we саn movе on discussing уоur servicеs

Apart from the fact they they even sound odd - they had used exactly the same screen shot, same URL, same hidden email. It was obvious with the first, even moreso with the second.

A new scam is going around Fiverr. Someone posing as a "buyer" will ask you for your email address, claiming they need it to place an order. This is not true because there's no reason for them to require your email to order on Fiverr or "verify" anything.

They might even show you a fake screenshot that supposedly shows Fiverr requesting your email. Again: It's fake.

My bet is that the scammers are trying to get a hold of your Fiverr account.

Thank you, I was suspicious already and you confirm it, second one in 2 h! I'm new here and wasn't sure if buyer needed email reported them!

I’m new too and literally just a few hours of posting my gig, I got a message with a QR link. I was unsuspecting and clicked on it, realized the URL wasn’t actually Fiverr, and immediately reported and blocked the user. Then, I sent in a ticket to support along with screenshots and background information to make double sure that they got my report.

It’s sad that scammers target new people. I am now on higher alert for such scam messages, but I just wanted to share that it’s still happening and from now on, I’m never going to click on any links or scan any QR codes in my messages. I will always just report and block.

Good luck to everyone.

Hi all !

So, I would have been paid upfront 3 times 300USD for my published gigs, if only it weren't a scam.

I was so excited that I followed all the steps!

Only to stop at the point where I have to put in my card information and the card must have more than a desired amount, then they'd ask you an otp and voila they'll take your money!

I was like waooo!!

Similarly I registered on some sites and put in card details, they took authorization to make deductions and I had to block my card.

God! so much scam.
