Is this a scam?

Yes, it is!

I can order your gigs without any issues, so there is no restriction on your account. Refrain from scanning any QR code or entering any personal information. Also, the customer support team never approaches you like this in the inbox. Report the user and block them right away!

I have also recently received a message like this.

I uploaded a video on my gig and it was still processing, and I had emailed fiverr to let them know my video was taking too long to process. And I recently uploaded a new gig and it has gotten 0 impressions (I'm new to fiverr), and i received this message from "Support Fiverr" Yesterday. It said that my account had been suspended and that I had to scan the link to unlock my account, after going to the link they asked for my bank account details to verify my account and I had to let them know the amount of money I had in my account. I found this abit weird and I emailed fiverr and asked them to verify the legitimacy of this message. I still haven't received an email from fiverr and it's been more than 12 hours. I also transferred all my money to a different bank account for added safety measures.

Incase the scammers are reading this, I'll let u know I am an amateur kickboxer with a fight record of 3-1. I earn money the right way and I would pay to punch ya backwards. I hope fiverr will do their job in making sure that scams like this don't go unnoticed, or maybe even find out the ip adress and location of this scammers so we could deal with them ourselves, like men.

Is credit card info legit to earn the earnings ?

well no fiverr sends you an email if well someone bought your gig .For me i opened the email and clicked on ensure account verification because fiverr was telling me to verify my account to recieve the payment well i clicked on it to my surprise they asked my credit card info there wasn't any other option of bank transfer and all that to get my earnings. well due to me beig an 13 year old i asked my father to put in the details but as soon as he saw he didnt let me he new the person that biught my gig was a fraudster and after he found out we talked to support and they insisted us to enter our card info but use common sense credit cards are for giving payments not recieving them. Then we just left it because we knew this was a fraud and my ammount would be taken out of my fathers credit card we even got a Qr code to scan by the support well we scanned but the instructions they told us were to enter the card number and info an they would freeze a random ammount for a second well i did not believe this so i left it plzz be aware of these scams. My gig costed 112 pounds so that would have been the ammount taken out of the card

You can't have talked to the actual Fiverr customer support. Fiverr customer support wouldn't tell you to enter credit card info that someone in the inbox sent a link to enter. The actual Fiverr customer support can be contacted through https://www.fiverr.com/support_tickets/ or support@fiverr.com

It would have been the scammers that were faking being customer support that told you to enter card info.

You could contact your bank and try and dispute the payment, telling them what happened. Maybe they can check transactions on it.

If Fiverr one day stops people entering "support Fiverr" etc. in the display name and stops the QR codes being sent then that might help stop the frauds.

We've told Fiverr about the scam messages that use that display name. Fiverr still hasn't stopped it yet.

@Kesha Do you know when Fiverr will add code to prevent any user from entering "Support Fiverr" or "Fiverr" in their display name, as this fraud and fraud attempts have been happening for along time now. If Fiverr wants the site to be more trustworthy, why aren't they doing anything about the buyers who change their display name to impersonate Fiverr Support and do frauds like this (apart from banning them when they're reported, but stopping them changing their display name to impersonate Fiverr customer support would help stop the frauds before they happened)? And can't they do anything about the QR codes being sent as that hasn't been prevented yet either.

Got almost exactly the same scam message today (June 17th) from 'Support Fiverr' - it's still happening. Seemed highly suspicious so I didn't give them anything and looked it up. Thanks for sharing your experience and confirming it is indeed a scam.

Yes it's a scam. Fiverr order numbers aren't all numeric. Your Fiverr dashboard page will show you if you have orders or not. Don't go to their link. Just report the user/message.

Apologies if this topic has been covered already.

There's a high chance people would fall into this, so I thought of sharing this with the community.

This is a message I just received from a scammer (Yes, I reported and blocked them).

Notice how they're pretending to be Fiverr Support trying to get you to copy and paste a link into your browser. And see how it looks very similar to a Fiverr order page link.

Be Smart! DO NOT FALL INTO THIS KINDA NONSENSE.
