Presumably yeah, I've just received another of the same nature, they don't come through as official orders but instead just as a link in messages. Some seem to be reported before I can even report them myself which is nice, but at the same time 3 scam messages in the first day, bodes well... 😕

A bad thing happened to me today.  A scammer asked me to scan a QR code in a fiber message.  Luckily if I didn't scan my account would have been hacked.

Yes. It's a common scam these days, we need to be vigilant and stay alert.

My first encounter with a non-telegram scammer on Fiverr since I've been here.

When I registered with fiverr, after completion my KYC then I got same message. I filled my card details but unfortunately my card was not on International payment mode that's by transaction did not complete. After this I researched on google then I found that was the big scam. I would recommend to newbie please don't make any other transaction fiverr never asked any type of payment otherwise you will get big loss before start earning money on fiverr.

Hacker do not know your display name then pronounced Dear User.

Thanks

Fiverr scam immediately after sign up

Hi, so I've recently discovered that I have fallen victim to a scam involving fiverr. It's the whole shtick of getting an email and QR code. I believe I will now have to block my card number because I am very stupid, but I would like to know how I was contacted so soon after setting up a fiverr account. This seems like such a massive and easy to miss risk.

I have already stupidly entered in my bank account details because I'm obscenely stupid, but stopped before accepting the "temporary" payment thing. Is there any chance that this scammer DOESN'T have my info? or am I just f****d?

You can block your credit card, talk with the bank and tell them to block this card, depending on the bank you can even do that from their mobile app, you don't even have to call them.

Fiverr never contacts you through the inbox, let alone messages via an account called ID and a bunch of random numbers. Just so you know.

Yeah, I've done all of that now. Good to know. I was caught completely off guard with this scam, cus I made my account like five minutes before I got the email.

Hi, I registered my first gig just 5 minutes ago and got this message already... The id was extremely suspicious so I did some googling and ended up in this thread.

You could report it to the real Fiverr customer support at the help desk as well as report the message with the report option (3 dots on the top right of the message with show the menu option for that). You could ask them in the report option/help desk if they could put some code in to stop people changing their display names to have "Fiverr" or "Support" in it. Fiverr said they've added a policy against people doing that but it doesn't seem to be stopping people from doing it currently. It needs a small bit of code to actually check it.

Greetings, everyone! I got a message from fiverr today and it says that somebody has purchased my gig and gave me a link for confirming my bank account. It says if the account is confirmed, fiverr would notify the customer later. The page the link redirected to was also fiverr's own page. Then I was redirected to a stripe page. However, I don't think I am supposed to have any order because nobody contacted me before and in fact, the gig was recently uploaded and it was showing zero gigs. Some told me it was a scam. Someone please help me.

I thought it was no longer possible to use "Support" as a part of a display name. @Lena? Do you know something about this (and should someone be alerted)?

I thought so, too. Let me check with the team.

Hello @diptasinha

We strongly recommend not opening suspicious links, QR codes, or files from senders you have not contacted directly. Please be aware that Fiverr will never contact you via inbox to request payments, passwords, or private information.

If you do receive a message like this in your inbox, please report it immediately to our Customer Support by sending an email to support@fiverr.com.

Thanks.

Just go this. Won't even bother blacking out user info, as this is clearly a targeted scam to steal money from people. Be careful, they go to the extent of making a fake fiverr website to trick new users into thinking an order was paid for an putting in their credit card information to "receive the payment".

i accidentally put my credit info on that web what can i do now
