visualstudios Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 Just go this. Won't even bother blacking out user info, as this is clearly a targeted scam to steal money from people. Be careful, they go to the extent of making a fake fiverr website to trick new users into thinking an order was paid for an putting in their credit card information to "receive the payment". 54 1 1 1 2 12
visualstudios Posted February 10, 2024 Author Posted February 10, 2024 @Kesha@Lena This user should be banned asap - and keep an eye open for this new method of using a fake website that includes fiverr in the url, as I suspect this will keep increasing. 40 8 1
donnovan86 Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 I can see people that are in a rush entering the website and thinking they are on Fiverr. Obviously, if you're careful, you immediately see the link is strange, but still, it's great that you showed this to people, so they can educate themselves on how to avoid these scams. Sure, Fiverr staff will delete that account, but they will just create another one.. It's imperative for users to know how to avoid this, so hopefully there will be a webinar soon on how to avoid scams. Because honestly... there should be one 🙂 44 1 3 1 1
uk1000 Posted February 10, 2024 Posted February 10, 2024 (edited) Surely Fiverr could add code to detect a URL being placed in a message or post that contains "fiverr." (or something similar) but that goes to a website that isn't Fiverr and automatically flag the message to help prevent future links of that type being sent to users. katakatica Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 I'm not sure how it looks like as I don't use it but could the scammers be basing this off the request to order feature? Obviously that wouldn't take you to a fake site (duh) but still... Clearly, they are getting smarter and that's honestly scary. I can definitely see a sleep-deprived seller automatically enter stuff because they are in a rush... 34 1 4 1
newsmike Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 At least there's always the tell of Borat grammar. "The page of familiarization with the placed order." LOL 38 1
visualstudios Posted February 11, 2024 Author Posted February 11, 2024 The target is clearly first time sellers, due to the way this is constructed. No idea why then sent me this, as we obviously would never fall for that. But for someone with no sales, that doesn't know how the platform works... I can see this working. 33

creativecolumn Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 This scammer seems very creative. Haha. PS: Fiverr should force to verify a payment method as soon as an account created. Otherwise, there should be a verification system before new users allowing to send messages. 34

paavoilves Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 I just made myself a seller profile on Fiverr, I sell mixing and mastering services. Got this in less than a day. I wasn't sure if this was legit but having seen scams elsewhere, I knew something was up. Thankfully I saw this post to confirm my suspicions! 28 5

startalent2024 Posted February 14, 2024 Posted February 14, 2024 Hello everyone, I wanted to share an experience I recently had with a phishing message. The message pretended to be from Fiverr, but it was actually a scam. Here is the message: When I opened the link, I saw the following page: And after I clicked on the Verify button, I saw this: Here are some tips to help you identify phishing messages: 1. Check the URL of the website - in this case, the URL was fiverr.service-verificate.com, while Fiverr's URL is fiverr.com. 2. These types of messages from Fiverr often come as notifications not messages. 3. Check the status of your account or service - in my case, my gig status was still active. 4. Be wary of messages that ask you to take action within a certain time frame - in this case, the message said I needed to act within 24 hours. 5. Be cautious when asked to provide unnecessary information. Fortunately, Fiverr was able to block the user who sent me the message shortly after. But it's important to be vigilant against phishing scams, as scammers are always finding new ways to deceive people. Thank you for reading and please share any similar experiences or tips to prevent falling for scams. 11 2 1

richardwheeler Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 This is 100% a scam. Don't violate the terms of service for this guy. When in doubt, listen to your gut, it is a scam. 26 1 1
navid_zafar Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 Your email is not required by any Buyer on the Fiverr to transfer you money. Client only need to place an order using Fiverr platform. 22
jabirahamed20 Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Specially people are scamming using of a fiverr support (buyer account) and sending messages to people mostly who are not much getting work on the platform 13
xshay99 Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 It seems like there's a new scam-bot going around. I did scan the QR code, and after that it asks you to verify your bank details, didn't do that obviously. So please be cautious, especially as a new seller. Quote 56 10 4 3
Lena Posted February 26, 2024 Posted February 26, 2024 Hi @xshay99 Yes, it is a phishing scheme that has been going around. Our dedicated team is aware of it and is working on it. Thank you for raising this issue. 52 9

developer_alina Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 (edited) Hello everyone, My name is Alina, I'm a freelance content writer, and I just started here on fiverr after a very long break. Please welcome me back. While on that, I got a message from fiverr stating: "Your frееlance service is temporarily unable to accept new оrdеrs. Tо rеstore the frееlаnсe sеrvicе and sее new orders in your profile, please follow the instructions. We have sent you a QR cоdе. Scan this QR cоdе and pаss a simplе vеrifiсаtion. In mоst cases, yоu саn sсаn оnе by opеning up your саmera аpp аnd fоcusing оn the QR cоde. A square will pop up on the screen and you align the QR cоdе inside the square." Has anyone gotten a message like this? Please how do I go about it? Thanks Alina Edited March 7, 2024 by developer_alina For clarity and more about myself 55 1 2
Guest kubracorl Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 After registering on Fiverr, I received this message from the support team: 'Hello Kubracorluk, this is the Fivеrr suppоrt tеam! Your freelаnce service is temporarily unаble to accept new orders due to the new policy of our platform. To restore the service and see new оrders in your profile, please follow the instructions. We have sent you a QR code. Scan this QR code and complete a simple verification. You can scan it by opening the camera app and hovering over the QR code, or by using some online services. If you still have any problems, please contact us in this chat.' After following the steps by scanning the QR code, money has been continuously deducted from my bank account. When I inquired about it, I was assured that it would be refunded, but I haven't received any refund yet. Has this happened to you before? How can I get a refund?
catwriter Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 It's a scam. That's not real Fiverr support, nor would they ever do something like that. @Lena, can you advise the OP on what to do next, please? 26 2 2
