In our last seller’s webinar, we went over how to elevate your success on the platform using one simple key - Communication

If you missed it or want a refresher, you can catch the replay here. Alternatively, you can check out the notes below.

Effective communication before, during, and after an order can help build trust and foster long-term relationships with your buyers. Here are the three main communication touch points we discussed:

  1. Before the order - When a potential buyer sends a message to express interest or seek additional details, it’s important to respond promptly and professionally. At this stage, they’re likely exploring their options, so it’s important to make a good first impression. To stand out from the competition, set up a well-crafted auto-reply detailing your skills and an overview of your services. Also share resources to brief them on what to expect when working with a Fiverr freelancer in your particular field. While auto-replies serve as a placeholder, responding swiftly showcases your availability and commitment. When answering their first message, maintain a friendly and professional tone while also letting your personality shine. Be transparent and set mutual expectations on scope, budget, timeline, and the process for revisions. To prevent issues downline, it is important to also mention that any changes outside of the scope will incur additional charges and postpone the original deadline. You can also share relevant work samples to further your credibility. For a more personalized connection, eligible sellers can also hop on a Zoom call with buyers. 2. During the order - Once your buyer has chosen to collaborate, it’s time to kick things off. Start by expressing gratitude for their order and assuring them that they’re in great hands. Ask clarifying questions as needed and provide an outline of next steps, detailing timelines and your process for revisions. We suggest regularly checking in with your buyer to share updates on your progress and share drafts for initial feedback. This not only strengthens client relationships, but also ensures alignment and avoids complications or extensive revisions later.
  3. After the order - After providing any necessary revisions, it’s time to make the final delivery and wow your buyer. Offer a thorough explanation of your efforts and achieved results, along with a usage guide. A detailed checklist can help make things easy to understand. If you want to take it up a notch, provide an explainer video using a tool like Loom. You may also hop on a Zoom call with them if you have the feature. With that being written, please make sure to stay aligned within Fiverr ToS.

Don’t stop there! Post-delivery, take it a step further by leveraging this existing connection for future opportunities. Take time to understand your buyer's goals and challenges, exploring possibilities for further assistance. Don’t hesitate to ask for referrals, propose future collaborations, or even offer a discounted rate on their next purchase.

Thanks for the pieces of information. I have one question: if the client requests me to do additional revisions after the final delivery and I do it free of cost after the completion of a project, will it negatively affect my related Gig?
