When I was trying to figure out what would be a good size for sample / Gig pics, I took a look at a few other gigs, checked out the image properties, and it seemed like in most cases the dimensions were 680px × 459px (Width by Height in pixels) and in a JPG format.Trying that size and JPG format seems to work fine for me. You may need to use a graphic-editing software to crop and/or resize your image accordingly and then save them in a high-res JPG format and see if that works.
