Is there a way to remove fiverr gig at certain times of the day?

danielprince765

Question

I went to sleep and by the time I woke up apparently I had a message? I responded and now my average response rate is incredibly bad. I'm talking several hours bad. It was not my fault because he messaged me when I was sleeping. How was I supposed to be awake at that time of the day? Is there a way to fix this in the future? I will probably delete my account due to this, but I need to know still....

It's 17 hours.

After one message. Reply to the next three early and your response time will be down to a more normal amount.

Anyway, to answer your initial question, you can't set your hours or prevent people from messaging you at certain times. You just have to be available fairly regularly (in a healthy way) and allow your stats to even themselves out over time. You'll get some messages while sleeping. You'll get some while you're awake. Overall, you'll probably end up with a response time of 1-4 hours, depending on where most of your customers are from.

You can create a new account if you want, but it's extra work, and a similar thing could happen again.

Fiverr gives sellers 24 hours to respond to messages before the response time starts to count against us. If your time is 17 hours, you must have replied more than 24 hours after the message.

You can read about response time and rate here.

No that's the response rate % (which is incorrectly shown as the response time % on the analytics page, but that's not the figure that's shown on his public profile).

The one showing on the profile is the avg response time (from the dashboard, which is the avg time, not a %). And that one does count against you whatever your reply time is I think. eg. if on average you reply to people in 3 hours in the last 60 days, that's what it will show. Mine increased the second after I replied to someone even though it was < 24 hours. If it waited >24 hours to count it it would be very inaccurate.

This is another reason why Fiverr should standardise the "response time" and "response rate" fields on the dashboard/analytics page (ie. fix it on the analytics page) so there aren't discrepancies between the pages and it's clearer.

Not automatically. If you wanted, you could ether pause a gig before you go to sleep and re-activate it it when you're availalbe or use the "availabiltiy" option on the profile and set yourself as unavailable. And turn off "all buyers can contact me". The help on that says:

Only enable if you can reply, since your response time to new messages will affect your response rate.

but setting yourself unavailable manually at a certain time each day would be quite a bit of manual work since it's not automatic and probably mean your gigs would get shown lower down in search results after you were available again, especially if you did it a lot.

You could suggest the automatic feature for it with Fiverr though.
