Okay, so I suppose I totally missed this in the terms or something, but apparently we aren’t doing these things for $5, we’re doing them for $4? Is that because Fiverr takes $1 off each gig? I get that, but it kind of makes the name of the site a bit deceptive …

Yes they take $1. Aka 20%.



As for the name of the site, it’s still telling the truth. It’s a community of people selling things for $5, the buyer still pays $5.

Well, the sellers are ‘doing such in such for a fiver’ which isn’t actually true.

The title is not deceptive, because $5 is what buyers pay. Fiverr takes $1 from every $5 in order to pay for advertising, their staff, etc. The platform would not even exist for you to sell if they didn’t take a cut.
