Why a big jump in impressions on the first day?

emma_7134

Question

Greetings,

I've had a few Gigs up for about a week now, and on the first day all of them experienced a huge jump in impressions (approx. 100+/day on the best one), then crashed to less than 10 for a few days. Since then, they've been fluctuating but never went up to that high level again. (I did notice that impressions go down during the weekend, but that's not really what I'm asking about.)

Does Fiverr "promote" some new sellers for a day or two and rotate them to give all a chance at getting their first order? Has anyone else noticed this pattern? Or else, what might have changed?

Cheers!

It's very common to notice occasional spikes as Fiverr temporarily promotes your profile, allowing you to show your talent and skills. The duration of these spikes can vary from a day to a week (that's completely on the algorithm), so during these periods, try to secure as many deals as possible and deliver exceptional results. If you are able to secure a good amount of deals, make good sales, and deliver good results, this will increase the chances of Fiverr recommending you to other potential buyers.

It is very common and usual for algorithms to throw a new post, gig or content piece to the audience to check if they LIKE it and then the system decides whether to show it to more or less people after the initial exposure.

While we don't have precise information on whether Fiverr does this or not.

But how Instagram goes about "new reels" is that the moment someone posts a new reel - its shown in the feed of 100 people (for example) 📱and if they 'like', 'share' and 'save' it; then the platform shows it to more & more people to keep amplifying its reach. That's why some reels go viral within a day as the initial reaction (from 100 people) tells the platform that this is "good-amplifiable content". 📈

Same analogy can applied as an assumption💡to the initial burst of impressions of your gig and then the drop in the impressions too!!🔍If a gig gets a few orders during the initial phase, then impressions will continue or even grow.
