Additional Changes After a Positive Rating: What to Do?

eureka2022

Question

Hello everyone,

I recently had an experience with a client on Fiverr that left me with some doubts. I would greatly appreciate your advice and guidance.

The client in question placed an order and was satisfied with the work, rating me with 5 stars in all categories. However, days later, they requested additional revisions to the design, even though they had already accepted and positively rated the original work.

I agreed to make the additional changes, although I was not obligated to do so, as the client had accepted the initial order and seemed satisfied. However, now the client is requesting a new design that is unrelated to the original order, essentially wanting me to work for free on an entirely different project.

My questions are as follows:

1-. Is it possible for the client to change the rating of the order after giving me 5 stars in all categories?

2-. What would be the best way to handle this situation to protect my account and maintain customer satisfaction?

I greatly appreciate your advice and experiences on this matter. Thank you in advance for your help.

I don't think they can change anything without the help from support.

If I were you, I would let the buyer know that the request is not related to the initial order, and if things get worse will contact support with a detailed explanation with proof so it's easier for them to investigate and give me a fair resolution in case anything happens.

Show appreciation: Thank the person who gave positive feedback, showing professionalism and gratitude.

Understand specifics: If possible, ask for more details to understand what they liked about your work.

Reflect and adapt: Consider how to use this feedback to improve your future work.

Find room for growth: Identify areas where you can make further improvements, even if the feedback was positive.

Raise the bar: Use positive feedback as motivation to set higher standards for yourself or your team.

Celebrate together: If it was a team effort, acknowledge and celebrate success with your colleagues.

Change gradually: Implement improvements step by step to ensure they are effective and lasting.

Welcome all feedback: Encourage ongoing feedback, both positive and constructive, to foster continuous improvement.

Stay open-minded: Don't get complacent; always be willing to learn and adapt.

Track progress: Keep a record of changes and results to demonstrate your commitment to improvement.

Receiving positive feedback is a chance to grow and perform even better in your work. These steps can help you leverage it for future success.

1. Clients cannot change ratings after giving them on Fiverr.

2. Politely explain that new work is a separate project and offer a custom order for it. Maintain professionalism.

Envíeles una oferta para el nuevo trabajo.

I highly value your advice, but I wouldn't take the risk of sending them an offer for a new job. They might place an order and, in retaliation for not doing the work for free, give me a negative rating. I'm considering that the best course of action in this case is to block them.

Very unlikely - if they are a normal person, that is.

If they are absolutely horrible, then why are you working with them? You need to vet the clients before the first order, not after.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm in my early stages on Fiverr and currently a Level 1 seller. I'm learning to handle different situations and understand clients. I agree with you that it's important to assess clients before accepting an order, but sometimes it's challenging to predict how a collaboration will unfold.

Thanks again for your advice and guidance as I continue to grow on this platform.
