Good evening guys, I have a question. I have recently put ads on Fiverr as a freelancer and I often get contacted by people offering me writer jobs or translations. The point is that they offer strangely high fees ( they offer 50 pages of work paying $40/50 per page ) plus they ask to be contacted on Telegram or email for more details. Have you had experience with this kind of people? Do you know if it is a scam?

It's a Scam, Don't go with this. The real buyers don't like to share links for contact outside of work. Keep a distance from the Scammers.

Yes, it's a total scam.

Fiverr's clients will not ask you to join telegram, WhatsApp, or other social media, also they will not tell you that they will pay a big amount for small tasks all at the very 1st message. Don't click on links or write anything weird to these types of client messages. Fiverr's advanced System will automatically track these accounts and take care of those.

I hope this information proves to be useful to you.

Best wishes,

Teresa

Definitely scammers with a shocking standard of English! 'We will like to'.../'if interested do well to'/'if your good'... etc.

This is certainly not a Linda Harris or Kelvin Willy writing to you, ha.

I have a allergy that I wanted to use for a website redesign.  I submitted a request, he replied and before I even had a chance to pay he was asking for access to my website. I asked him about paying first to be sure it was done properly & he insists that I grant him access first and then he will send the payment request. Is that normal or should I be concerned??

You shouldn't worry about it completely (or maybe you should a little bit).
In this case, it could also be something like this, he just wanted to make sure that whether he can complete the job properly or not.

& I also offer the service of customization & redesigning the websites (WordPress Based). Sometimes, I prefer the same way too, to avoid the low buyer satisfaction rate.
N.B: You should not give him the cPanel Access and make sure that you have the backup of your whole website before giving him the access, then you will be worry free.
Thanks.

Is this Job offer to print checks a scam?

They offered me a good sum of money monthly to just print and mail checks and letters. Is there a way this could be a scam? It doesn't sound right, but I just want to be sure.

It totally depends on which category checks want to print and how much monthly is offered to you. My advise is if this is offered through Fiverr, please contact support.

I have received a message on fiverr regarding a 2D animation video. He sent me his requirement and I created the video without asking him to place an order. I sent him the video with a watermark and he liked it and starting negotiating the price. I accepted his offer in a very cheap price of 20$ for a 40 seconds of animation video and then he replied me that send the video without a watermark so I can show the video in my company but I refused. I told him that I’m sending you a custom order offer so please accept it but he still saying the same thing that please understand me I will give you more order etc etc but again I refused. After 2 days he sent a message that his friend is placing an order so, send him a custom order and I did and delivered the video but now he messaged me and telling me to send him the video here as his friend is at work and I will tell him to accept the order once I received the video here. Is this some kind of scam?

I recommend putting the password in the file you want to send to the client. so if they don't want to complete the order you can anticipate the possibility of being cheated

Good advice actually but i don't know how would this hold against Fiverr, if somebody doesn't want to pay until they SEE the work you did? And they report you for fraud? Fiverr would see that as an attempt at fraud?

True a group of people are do this intentionally just to get rid of their competition which is totally unfair and should be taken care of by fiverr.

This is interesting, I never heard that before.

this is interesting, fiverr should remove these IDs if they are doing this continuously, also fiverr should not cancel these types of orders. this will teach this scammers a lesson

I've had the same situation twice now, and it just doesn't feel right.  Both times I turned down the gigs just because I don't want to get involved in a scam.  I was looking for advice on this topic as well.

It's scam. They will provide Telegram number also. So avoid them and also report them instantly. Thank you!

If it sounds too good to be true, it's a scam.

Unfortunately, Fiverr is full of them. Sometimes, even Fiverr performs a little bait and switch operation of its own by reeling in sellers with locked discounted pricing and promises of lifetime loyalty discounts for Seller Plus, only to turn around after 3 years and announce a 100% price increase. Or a 50% price increase.

Either way... let's pretend we're a seller. Let's pretend we offer a buyer "lifetime maintenance" for their website for $5 a month. Now, let's pretend that 3 years later, we jack up the price 100% because we need to... <checks notes> align our pricing. Well, OK, Fiverr doesn't even really let you do subscriptions, but we're just pretending here.

What would Fiverr do? That's right, they will cancel, because oh dear, TOS doesn't allow you to do that.

Something for the leadership of Fiverr to consider, you might think, along with dealing with the rampant scammers in the inbox, but will they?

If anyone offers money that does not go with the fiverr system, then its definitely a scam. As a seller, you have to send an offer to buyer for the specified work and send a customized price with it.
