Need to know about coupon code uses

I see when I was in the seller plus program then I got the coupon code facility but the thing is that when I my client use that coupon code and accept the delivery then there is showing I earned suppose(160$ in 200$ project and in the clearance it is showing 128$- 20% coupon code offer). So my question where is the benefit of the sellers and advantage on offer the buyer coupon code? Can anyone explain me about it?

This means, you offer your customer a discount of 20%. You actually earned 160x20% discount your customer will have/100= 128!
