donnovan86
So what's the strategy here? Delivering faster than expected? That's obvious.. And in many cases you can't deliver days faster 🙂 But it might work for those with very long waiting times, I guess.
smashradio
This is not a secret. Delivering early is a given if you're able to.

Personally, I think it's doable in all projects if you add an extra couple of days to your estimated delivery times. It works in two ways if you run into issues and happen to need a bit more time than usually, you don't have to ask the client for that extra time. Second, since you already added a couple of extra days to your normal delivery time you will always deliver earlier. Say if it takes you 7 days to complete a project, then you estimate 9 days and when you deliver at 7 the buyer will be extra happier because they received it before they were expecting. Another good strategy for achieving a 5-star review is giving free minor revisions. Things that take less than 5-10 minutes can be done for free. Many clients will appreciate this treatment and usually end up tipping you more than what you would've charged them for the revision anyways. Also, of course, do your very best with each order every time you can. No technique can beat outstanding work.

Second, since you already added a couple of extra days to your normal delivery time you will always deliver earlier. True, it helps you, but if you compete with someone that can deliver in 3 days and have the same price, most likely they will choose them over you because you're taking 2 times more. So a competitive delivery time is always important. It does vary based on your niche, but for me as a writer there are tons of people delivering in a day. If I deliver in 5 days for example, I will have way less clients. So it's niche-dependent. If you can afford longer deadlines, then sure, but in many cases most niches are competitive to the point where faster deadlines matter. There will also be people that are not in a rush, true.

If you do that the only reputation you're building is that you have a disposable service and you're always online, you don't generate any sense of rush or something valuable that will not be available at this price for a long time. Also, staying online does nothing for sales. Stop spreading a rumor without knowing if it's true or not.. 6
