Multiple gig ranking.

I used to work in the data entry category. My gig was on rank. But now I no longer want to work in the data entry category. I have uploaded gigs in the web development category but my gigs are not getting ranked. I heard that if you have one gig on rank then other gigs will not get ranked. Is it true?

If it is true then if I delete or pause my data entry gig, will the other gig get ranked?
