Update: Display Name in your profile! Mandatory!

Is giving the Person's name mandatory, or is a brand name allowed?

It's Your choice if you choose a brand name to display then it's totally fine.

This feature is not a big change but for personal preference, it's a good idea to add this feature. My username is fullstackrasel, because I can't find the username that I  want to save. When I have completed a project and the buyer gives me feedback for the project he called me fullstackrasel which is not my name. With this feature the problem is solved and when a buyer gives feedback he called the exact name that the seller wants to show. Thanks for this feature.

This is definitely a good-to-have feature. Either put your name or your brand name out there. You do have the option to leave the field blank and just go with your username (personal preference). 

Earlier, some sellers asked for my name to address me while others preferred using my username (writinghome)...but now, this bottleneck is taken care of. Thanks Fiverr for this option.

Previously Display Name was available to profile only.

In the recent update, Fiverr replaced the prominent representation of all users from the username to display names across the app. However, Fiverr will show both the username and the display name in active communication touchpoints, i.e. inbox, order chat, and profile.

 

This is going to increase buyers' trust in the marketplace.

I really liked the feature of this, I was missing this feature, because most of the client doesn't know our name and there are some sellers who use their company name as a user name. So overall the feature is the best one !!

Yes sure ! Just use Artist as your name !

I want to change a unique display name but the name can't be changed. i don't know why I can't change my name because it is unique.

You can show your entire name if you want. I do, I don't see that as an issue. Some people want more privacy, others focus on branding, so I think it's an ok feature since it helps everyone without being too restrictive, nor it reveals too much.

I don't want future employers finding my comments on the Fiverr Forum, don't want to get cancelled. When it comes to branding, would you say most influencers are using their real names? Or are they using nicknames such as The Bee Lady or Taxes With Tim? Those are made up by the way.

It's not mandatory, afaik. Visual Studios is two people, I can't put a single name on there, and it won't accept two names.

I think its not a major issue as the:

-Buyers can get 2 know everything about sellers after a video interview.
