Tips for a newbie?

asteracea

Question

Hello! I wanted to ask, since I probably am not the only one, how often do you get messages saying "hello, we are looking for your skills, contact us in [external website]" or some variation? Fiverr makes the sender impossible to contact, but as a first time gig seller it's disheartening. Suggestions, commiserations?

Hello, and thank you for stopping to read!

I'm a complete novice in the field, and so I would like to ask: what are some tips and tricks you would have liked/needed to hear at the beginning of your Fiverr journey?

Thank you again!

1. They are either liars or cheapy guys. Both cases, you should refrain and don't become target of greed.

2. Forum is full of tips, need to search

3. Would suggest start cheap(low rate, high work), to advertise your name

then convert that fame of quality in to $$$

Those are most likely scammers. That will firstly get you in trouble with Fiverr, as it is not allowed to direct orders and work outside of Fiverr. And second of all they will most likely offer you a high amount of money for some job, to them scam after you've worked and delivered everything.

Make sure to report them. This way your profile stats will not get affected by their message and Fiverr will deal with them.

Oh, I do. Or rather, I send a "hey, just to warn you, you are breaking the Terms of Service, please don't do that" message and see how they respond. I'm starting to think some might be spam bots, there's been quite a plague these last months
