Top Seller: If you lose the badge, can you get it back eventually?

Wondering if this has happened to anyone else:

I was a top seller 2 years ago; went on vacation, missed a few messages, and lost my badge. Has anyone ever lost their badge and eventually got it back? 

Or do you know if you can never become a top seller again if you lost the badge once already?

I think that some top rated sellers who lost their badge got it back eventually (I remember it being mentioned on the forum); but others didn't, no matter what they did.
