proconsultn2035
I saw news on Facebook yesterday about recent Fiverr Update. Please what is it all about? Any ideas?

stefficolbert
Are you talking about "The Lift"? 6
uk1000
If it's about The Lift there's a thread about it here: I don't think it's really a new feature (it's not extra functions on the site). Maybe some resources, but if you look at the bottom of the linked page (https://www.fiverr.com/cp/the-lift) it's trying to get you to use Fiverr services to help with your business. So it's a bit of an advert for the gigs in the categories it lists. Edited January 2 by uk1000
shawnevian99
It is better to get in touch with Fiverr Customer Support and discuss the issue with them, posting on the forum here won't give you any benefit. 11

Something about blaming experienced freelancers about advice they have given? Is this why we're seeing lots of 'I've been banned messages'?

Bangladesh community leader posted exactly same topic, word by word, in their lounge and it already has 90+ comments with sellers confessing to various violations 🤔 Hi @mariashtelle1, Recently Fiverr flagged thousands of accounts from Bangladesh that took reviews from clients when they were newbies. They were misguided as you see in the original post. For TOS violation, Fiverr flagged thousands of accounts yesterday. So, it is like a virus and most of them were misguided when they were new and they didn't have so much knowledge about all the TOS. Now, thousands of Fiverr freelancers from Bangladesh want a chance from Fiverr. They are confessing and they are begging for a chance. Because Most of them live for Fiverr. Someone told them, as a new seller without review they can't shine. So they tried to acquire a review from someone they know who buys on Fiverr. Thousands of profile was flagged in one day. markp
once you start investigating you start to see a clear pattern of people with the same services buying from each other. Its not too hard to see & other things going on as well. I mentioned this some time ago. I don't think the excuse of "I didnt know" is good enough. its obviously unethical and trying to game the algorithm and you dont need to read the TOS to know that. its unethical and unacceptable and putting people who are working honestly and fairly on Fiverr at a disadvantage. 6

Thanks for clearing that up. However, Fiverr must have also investigated sellers from other countries too. They had a chance and destroyed it with dishonesty. They could have been honorable, but chose to be scammers instead. Please do not portray them as the victims, the actual victims were the people they robbed both by stealing descriptions and accepting money from buyers for work they booked while using fraudulent credentials. I notice they are begging forgiveness, yet none has offered to return the funds they stole to the buyers they scammed. They just want the forgiveness without any consequences. Empty gesture as every crook cries in the police station after they are caught. Edited January 2 by newsmike 7

What makes me feel little sympathy for any of them is the fact that none of the sellers who we tell and advise not to do what they're doing, because they'll get in trouble, take us seriously. They just laugh at us and even get angry, as we have seen many times. They only acknowledge their wrong doing after getting a warning or restricted or banned, but always justifying themselves for being misguided. Never because of their own faults, as if they were robots with no reasoning or discernment...

Couldn't agree more Let this be a lesson for every newbie that comes onto the Fiverr forum thinking that they can make up answers to queries without any business experience, all for the sake of badges and status. You need to be prepared that your words have a consequence. The storm has been coming for a long time and unfortunately you don't have an umbrella! However, since the government of Bangladesh sponsors education for these freelancers, they should ensure there are instructions on TOS. 4 1
